- I headed out to Gaiole in Chianti, Tuscany for the 2019 edition of L'Eroica, the now legendary vintage bike ride with real Italian flair.
I remember my first visit to L'Eroica six years ago very fondly but this year was even better as I took my daughter along. A big thanks to my buddies at Brooks for the invite.

That kid riding in the drops though....boss!
Her little arms out flying in the breeze was just the best!
Highlight of my day!
You know it's a great ride when the whole family is on the road and The Pope makes a cameo. Thanks BROOKS for letting this happen.
Juliet, that was one of the most joyous videos I've seen for ages. Your family are wonderful!😄
How you and Dave have changed that little girls life is more than admirable, she couldn't have wished for any more, yourself and Dave are saints, I wish the three of you eternal happiness 👍🚴♂️🚴♂️
You brought a tear to my eye with that comment. We couldn't wish for any more either
Omg so adorable, so wholesome.
And here I am, wishing I was adopted by you and Dave and how exponentially better a childhood I would've had. Your daughter is really lucky to have you two!
Your family eroica ride - the cutest, loveliest thing I've seen in a long long time!!!
(Race organizers should pick this up once in a while and do real full family rides, imagine that picture, the Pro Peloton with their parents, siblings, wifes, husbands, kids, dogs and cats in the trailers...)
Oh Juliet, that looked sooooo enjoyable. Properly welled up when people were cheering on your daughter. Brilliant that Brooks paid for your family to join you too. I really enjoyed that video, you lovely family you!
Great video.. Those Italians know how to organise a good biking event. ! My first saddle was a brooks B 17 , then the professional copper riveted model.. Those kids of today :) It made me feel happy watching it anyway ..:).
I used to ride a 1972 Ayala Professional painted in fire engine red. I bought it used in the mid 1980's. It was my student European racing frame. The first, a Mercian from Derby, England in lovely a lavender paint finish.
You daughter at the finish... Absolutely fantastic! But for me, the most amazing part, is her stretching out her hands and enjoying the ride :)
Same. So lovely x
Thank you so much for sharing your ride of happiness with your family. Truly amazing!
Beautiful time. Thank you for sharing.
That finish moment made me aww!
Ya gotta love a Brooks Saddle. Hey get even better with every ride!
What a great video. Precious memories!
Your Girl is growing up fast Juliet 😄 She's lucky to have a Cool Mom and Dad who take her cool places ridin bikes 😉 You and Dave are doin a Great Job 👨👩👧 Feel better soon 😃
Thanks Jerry
This looks so amazing and chill! Love it!
Your energy is infectious and just makes me smile. Thanks!
That's awesome, thank you
Juliet, you're such a joy to watch! Thank you for brightening my day and encouraging me to ride.
Cheers from Chicago
Thanks Lawrence, really nice to hear that you're enjoying my videos 😁
Looks like a great event. A lot of fun and nice atmosphere.
Tune in for something I've done 😂, looking forward to it already. That girl on that little bike spinning away was fantastic, bet you can't wait till your daughter is doing that. Really enjoyed that video, one of your best in my opinion.
Your little one is quite the trooper!
Maybe your best video! I love the little lady and your relaxed way of doing that event!
wonderful bikes, nice tour!
Wonderful! Loved it!
This just may be the best biking video of all time. Sorry you aren't feeling well. That being said...well done Juliet!!!
Made me smile all the way through.
Of all my subscriptions, I watch yours first! Brilliant vibe, Happy smile and good bike stuff! Good darts. 👍

Another great vid darling. Many thanks.
That looks like great fun!
Best video yet!
Amazing video - great work
Lovely video, Juliet!
What a wonderful family ride! Riding gravel on those vintage skinny tires would make me nervous 😬
Sorry for my terrible english. My name is Stefano and i live in tuscany, near Livorno.Casually i have found your channel on youtube. I remember to have seen you and another girl riding in tuscany trail 2019. I spoke with you in Buonconvento , you were sitting outside a caffe eating something. I arrived in capalbio on thursday , only few minutes after you.
I hope to find you next year in tuscany trail. By

Thank you! Glad you enjoy them.
Late to the party with this comment, but what a lovely event. So amazing to be able to go as a family💚 Really sweet video.
amazing. im so going next year
Sick 🤣I'm sure it was the 🍷 well done dave on the baby seat 💺 on the back 👍
Awesome vlog, well done it was great to watch, brought a smile to my face on this awfully wet Sunday morning in UK which means no ride until later, if we are lucky!
Thanks! Awful weather here in Devon today too
Great video! I have just bought a new gravel bike and signed up for Strade Bianche in March 2020. Your daughter looks so cute and happy!
I'd love to do that
Sounds like you may have to give up wine and stick to whiskey to avoid future throat sickness.
Love the Eroica when it’s held in Bakewell , hope to ride it next year! Great video Juliet!🚴🏻♀️💨
I think Dave is a forerunner in the next bicycling craze.... vintage gravel with child carrier! Probably some mad bicycling skills required to ride gravel descents on 25 mm tires with a child carrier as ballast. I expect a full video on the in's and out's, pro's and cons, of this new craze. What color of jersey does the "Gravel with Child in Tow" leader wear? Probably something with mock food stains, including wine stains, I imagine.
Juliet! Our oldest granddaughter loved to ride her child seat on the back of the tandem. She always went to sleep. I had a child seat for my daughter when she was a wee one, going on 37 now. She always went to sleep as well! It looks like you guys had a GREAT time!
I'd love to try a tandem in the future!
@@JulietElliottsChannel Juliet, my third date with my wife was on a tandem. She loved it, twenty years later we are stronger than ever! Also, look into a longtail cargo bike for hauling your daughter around. I have an Xtracycle, and the grand kids LOVE IT! It is 3 times better than a trailer. Enjoy your family and always remember the good times! Thanks for your always enthusiastic videos they are a joy to watch!
happy days....!
Looks like fun retro is COOL.
Haha watching Dave floss is equally the most beautiful & horrific thing ever, I just can't un-see that 😂 what a wonderful time and vlog. Thank you for sharing
So cool! Need to try a L'Eroica ride like that soon! Hope you feel better soon, betcha it was the wine you had earlier! ;)
Definitely don't think the wine helped...
Hey first comment! Lovely video - your daughter is the star of the show!
I really enjoyed this video, you all are Real people not some made up for show video. I sure wish we could have a ride here like that. Awesome video.!!!!!
Thanks Steve!

My other bike is an Italian bike (1984) and I gota ride an event like this in the future..I imagine would have a gr8 time🤘🇨🇦

Love it :)
Nice! I wholly approve of this video. Have a thumb!
Thanks, that looked like great fun. Special family moments. 👨👩👧. As you show your daughter in the videos are you going to reveal her name? 🤔.
Awesome, what an experience. Love the retro shirt too, what are they ?
i love Brooks
bellissimo
I raced during the 70s and 80s so none of this looks strange 😅
A Bulldog child's seat would have been more pre 1987ish. ;-)
Juliet ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What a fantastic ride seeing your daughter enjoying her Fans cool 😎😎😎
Even I welled up and I’m a ugly trucker from the Black Country (yam yam land )😂. BRILLIANT JUST BRILLIANT 😂

Всё новое - это хорошо забытое старое... .Спасибо было интересно
automatic like mode on :-) I love your videos !! when and how long was L'Eroca ?? Where is it into your strava ... I couldnt find :-(((
We did the short one, only 46km!! I think it should be on there now
@@JulietElliottsChannel hummm ... if possible add related strava link into each video... thanks in advance !
Just drink the bloody wine guys lol
I like the glasses at the start of this video and would like to buy them for my wife. Can you tell me where I can buy them.
i got a vintage bike seat for kids, in case you need one!
your Atala is not vintage with a mountain bike seat clamp to secure the seat pillar (post), that should be a seat "pin"
Wine can fit on your main suitcase (Not hand luggage)
Make sure you get plenty of rest so that you get better!
I'm trying!
What was the weather like? What temp? Thanks for the views of the route! Would like to do this one day.
Lovely weather, early twenties I think. Hope you make it
was this the 200km one?
I love you❗❗
If you've had that much problem with your throat I'd go to the doctor and check for streptococcus if you haven't allready. And if you have it the likelyhood that the rest of the family have it is very high. So it's a family treatment even if they're symptom free.
Thanks for the tip, I'll ask about that
When speaking Italian, and in particular Veneto, the accent must be placed on the retroactive third vowel. So Àtala and not Atàla.
love you gyermekeim !
Is this a yearly ride
Yeah
Ah l'Italia....
What is it with people walking down the gravel sections? It's downhill!!! I often feel awful after drinking red wine, coincidence?!
drink the wine before you go back home problem solved :)
We did
I hate when people ride slowwww on rides!
I can smell mamal, dissapointment and WD40.
