We recently did a side by side comparison with this and the vintage set. It’s amazing how much the two resemble each other on the front, but with larger proportion on the Origins set. The inside is where the differences really show themselves. Great video - thanks!

Hopefully MATTEL will release a new sticker pack in the future....and hopefully they re-release updated versions of Battle Cat & Panthor with ankle articulation....AND BEAST FEET for Beastman, Stratos Mossman, etc #ReleasetheBeastFeet! After all these fixes, the origins line will pretty much be perfect!
I'd love it if Mattel offered the original Jungle Adventure playset -- even as a crowdfunder because from the one photograph we have of it -- it looks like the removal of those play features and grafting the monster face over that side of the playset killed the play-ability of it. Agree on the stickers and blood falls -- I've got my fingers crossed for a Secrets of Snake Mountain set with official blood falls, the meeting table, and a Hover droid or two.

I need Snake Mountain for display with Skeletor and his minions and Castle Grayskull with He-Man and friends. I hope I can find it soon for a good price
I ordered it off of Deep Discount that I never had used literally the weekend it was announced ~69? So long ago! And I got it! Mine didn’t have a purple rock for the slime, but whatever. Great set. Already have a transparent red lava flow I made for my vintage one that works great. 🎉 Also making an internal extra platform that’s going to be awesome.
I have an amazing Grayskull ,Snake Mountain and we have Eternia coming next year, way more than I would expect from a modern line. I do hope we get bridges to connect all 3.
@@GeekDadLifeAre you going to do a review of the Skeleton Warriors? I think they are my favorite Origins figures so far. They feel like something that should have come out in 1985 and an army of them looks amazing.
It's fun look at the evolution of the Snake Mountain playsets. Super7 took it to the next level, they made my mind's eye Snake Mountain. I love that thing so much. Origins did a great update to the original but I don't expect a retail release like this to compare to the Super7 Snake Mt.
For the most part, Origins has been superior to the original line in a lot of ways. About the only thing missing here is that awesome microphone feature, but since these are more intended for display, I'm ok with that. Now, I'm off to defeat He-Man and rule Eternia! Nyeeehhh!
I’m not the biggest fan of the jail cell, as I’m more interested in display-ability than playability, however I’m aware I’m not THE target audience and that’s okay. I’d just prefer a 2nd floor to display more figures on the inside. I believe that’s my ONLY critique of this near perfect Playset. Oh, also the lack of paint app/wash on the Snake.

I like that it comes with better play features on the inside when compared to the vintage, but deciding to spend tooling on a function-less wolf-head and then forgoing pegs for a female torso in the slime pit is strange decision-making to put it politely. And when a mountain is no bigger than a castle, that's not particularly impressive either, but for the price point, it is what it is.
This came out really nice, good job Mattel. Still won't trade it in for my vintage SM - but that's only because I don't want to put the OG one into storage. But it's a great option for anyone looking to upgrade or get a SM for their collection in the first place. Now gimme that Fright Zone! ;)

So the snake can be articulated at the base without modifications ? Most reviews Ive seen says it cant be so just curious
