Dick Cavett was a terrific interviewer and when he interviewed these show business giants he was honest with them. I watched interviews of this show spanning from Groucho Marx to Jimi Hendrix and they all share something in common. They were clean and truthful, as well as being a little funny.

Tens of thousands of women served in both world wars, on the Soviet side as combat soldiers in WW2, and across the board geographically in other just as vital fields - armaments and vehicle construction, agricultural workers (The famous "Land Girls" of Britain), medical staffers, command and control/radar crews etc.

So, you are a failed comedian? Guess I am too, I wanted to do that when I was younger, but drugs and alcohol got in the way of me doing anything. I had NO confidence either. Hey though, you can always start that up. There are open mics all over.

@@ssnoc Frenchy and Minnie Marx's 1st son died at 7 months. When Leonard (Chico) was born, they treasured and idealized him, he could do no wrong, they spoiled him, he was all ego, gambler, womanizer. Arthur (Harpo) grew up in Chico's shadow, shy and insecure. But Minnie claimed he had great talent, at least. Julius (Groucho) was plain, according to Minnie, and would never amount to much. Groucho worked very hard at school, trying to make Minnie proud of him. He resented his older brother's choices and cultivated his intellect, but never got his mother's attention the way he needed. This is what prevented him from forming healthy relationships with women. That and the fact that he lost his virginity and caught the clap at the same time. The story of their upbringing is a case study in personality development. Herbert (Zeppo) was a success at everything he ever did. Boxing, bodybuilding, auto mechanics, singing, acting, comedic timing, talent agent, dress manufacturing......... he made a fortune off a new aircraft oil line clamp he invented. The Marx boys are a story worth studying.

"Liberal" comes from the Latin 'Libra ' zodiac sign of the balance scales, referring to an open mind balanced by healthy skepticism. How the hell did that ever become an insult ? People who use liberal as an insult are just plain ignorant of what they are saying. I think they are trying to say 'radical ' as being unbalanced in the radical direction, as opposed to unbalanced in the conservative direction. A pretty ineffective way of making 'conservative ' seem balanced. Might fool some morons into voting for a radical fascist, however, if the fascist claims to be 'conservative ' often enough. Never a shortage of morons, you know.
