8:40 Hey man, I feel really lucky to have found your video. I've recently just opened up shop and have been selling corn grain spawn bags. I'm still getting rye figured out though. Last night my bags came out really good lucking, much like yours. Tonight I let the pot boil too long and got a good amount of split grains. I was planning on just keeping the split grain batch for myself and holding onto the nice looking ones for sale. You' helped me confirm that I was making the right decision. Thanks!

Save a lot of time and money drilling the steel barrels holes by just paying a metal fabrication shop to do it for you. Charged me $50 to drill holes for everything seen in this video

What is your contamination rate using an atmospheric sterilizer vs an autoclave or pressure cooker?

    • @liquidfungi

99.9% success rate, we did 48,000 blocks this year.

Awesome stuff, I love your cultures gonna oder a 5 pack soon! I have a question, I was always told to autoclave spawn but I assume from this video you can stem sterilize them for a little over 10 hours a that will be effective sterilization. strategy.

You can, the time will depend on several factors, but you should probe the middle of the center most bag. 8 hours after the bag reaches temp, it is good to go.

Old street signs work great(stops are the easiest to use)drill 50/75 holes in the sign and sand blast)I used threaded rod through the sign to set my bottom tray height

@@joshflanders9535 you got it. If you are doing small scale you can make oat cakes that the mushroom can grow on in jars or bags. You can look up how to make brown rice flour cakes too - PF tek. Mushrooms grow on lots of stuff if you make it easy for them. Good luck and have fun!

Just built one with controler and everything for 400$ give or take 100 for any extras(voltage meter/20 amp in line breakers/6 foot temp sensor wire) also used a old juice shipment barrel made of just regular steel.when you get into stainless your easily talking double or triple that number.I would Def recommend building one of these
