I was thinking of rebuilding a 48RE with the Tow Master Kit, after watching the Vid I’m convinced it be Cheaper to let the “Legit Team” rebuild it fer me.
Excellent job guys I plan to bould my own 650 horse 68rfe andit is going in my daily tow rigg yes it'll be backed down while towing and if over 20k pounds towing overdrive is off. Unless traveling over 60 mph. Or 1800 rpm
I wish someone would start making aftermarket cases that were as good as factory or better. I mean people are making their own engine blocks so I don't see why they wouldn't make 48re cases. I'd buy them any day over using someone's old case, idk why someone hasn't made cases yet, especially with the crazy high demand for them with the 68 guys wanting them for swaps and us 3rd gen guys buying any cores up we can to have backups for when we hopefully never break our cases
Yeah I definitely jumped the gun on that one. Asked the question before the end of the video. I just ordered one from Matt as well. I've broken two fat shafts in the last year. I'm really excited to see how this 37 spline holds up.
Looks great Firepunk. I will be ordering one of your street 48re here soon. Is that what you would recommend if I am running a stock truck with Efi live on it? I want to be able to run it on the race tune and not worry about it. I won’t be launching it just rolling into it every now and then.
Okay, please do not laugh me off the channel... Since putting a diesel into either of my 2000 Dakota trucks is out of the question... can an NV1500 behind a 2.5L that is factory in one of my Daks be rebuilt with heavier internals to be as strong as an Nv3500, or is the case the big limitation? I am not looking to make monster HP, but I would like to drop in a 5.2L V8 with a 5 or 6 speed manual.
Great video but still missing something? What is the fluid that handles the best in the 48re? Too many have been killed by cheap fluid and brand names are just letters on the bottle. What have you guys found that works the best.
I'm still skeptical that my trans has all the parts I purchased. Bought the comp 1 kit and had nothing but problems for 6 months, finally working without gushing fluid. Be curious to have u guys check it out and put it on dyno..
Firepunk has their shit together, hands down the best transmission guys. Pretty excited to see how that new shaft pans out
Awesome video guys 👍
Very clean shop and work...👌

Im excited to get my transmission to Firepunk soon only the best for my Cummins. Great video guys.
Really like the 4door dodge you have would love you see you back at the ultimate diesel challenge. You kill it out there brother.

Awesome videos 😎👍 Can we see a walk around video on the quad cab and any other street/shop trucks like the blue megacab? 👌
Best marketing stunt ever! I personally look forward to doing business with you guys over sun coast now.
Matt Williamson LOL I haven't heard him call that in years
your website only goes to 2007 trucks no 08 to newer model?

Have you guys had a chance to mess with those solid inputs yet?

Yes, that would be a perfect fit for you.

how much of a pain in the rear is transmissions from buick, lets say for an early 90's park avenue. more out of curiosity

Ultron I’ve read on their fire punk Facebook forum lavon recommends Dex Merc over atf-4 in higher hp builds it helps it not slip as much basically
I ordered a trans over a month ago. Not heard any thing about it being done? will call in a few to figure it out
Email andy@firepunkdiesel.com or call him after 1 30pm 614 733 3744 ext 204

If its wrong, we will make it right for sure. But i can pull the build sheet to be sure.
Has anyone you know of ever used a power glide tranny behind a 5.9 Cummins
I wanna do this job for a living lol
Are you all Dodge or do you do it all? I got a 01 duramax 5 speed
Anything for a Duramax 2.8 6L80 transmission?
What is process for adding additional clutche discs in the 47re? Are the clutch baskets milled?
We machine the pressure plates on the direct clutch and overdrive to add a clutch in each
Where’s the vin # and how do I know which firepunk tranny I have in a dodge I bought????
Drop the pan and on the back side of the vb it's stamped with builders initials and FPC1 for comp 1 or FPTM for towmaster, etc
