15 years ago I started swearing up and down that this man is the GOAT GOD of rap, dead, alive or not born yet. I appreciate him continuing to prove that point with each and every word, bar, verse, song, and album.
All I can say is every time this man puts something out it transcends everything else that exists at the time. The jazzy beats the funky philosophical poetry it embodies all eras and creates itself into a genre all its own. It's incredible I am sincerely glad this man exists my existence is better for it.
Black Thought disappoints...once again....this dude REFUSES to drop a wack verse so the rest of these below par bar emcees..can catch up...once again, Black Thought disappoints the pop masses once again with his intricate multi syllabic wordplay and upper echelon vocabulary....guess he won't be fucking any throats off of this...nope, if he was trying to get a hook up on the pack....he ain't getting into no trap houses with these stellar god level emcee shit...damn, Black Thought....just be wack for once, my dude...damn........oh btw, thank you for this amazingly fluid and consistent eargasmic journey into excellent soundscaping...UHURU!!! HOTEP!!!

It's crazy, the man's been making some of the most brilliant eclectic music with the brilliant Roots orchestra and drops an album with another brilliant orchestra and somehow it sounds different new and fresh. I guess it's not really crazy but its pretty fucking awesome.
Honestly, this is one of the greatest hip-hop albums of the last decade or so and it is just a straight-up classic! It starts off with a bang, and it ends even better. I love Leon and El Michels Affair, but Dangermouse produced a project that sounded like a gritty lost classic album from 97 for Black Thought.
The rapping is top notch on both projects but that Dangermouse album had stronger standout songs...nothing on this project touching Aquamarine.
