Bradley is the best. Nobody is close. I am a 45 yr PGA pro retired. Gardner Dickinson was my mentor. He was Hogan's boy.He tried to show me this but I didn't lessen.
i think you are the best teacher ive ever seen. i can now outdrive people who score better than me and i use half the effort! keeping my arms tucked in has cured my hook and allowed my shoulder to be more comfortable. hitting with the body makes the game much more relaxing and enjoyable, the distance ive developed has hurt my scores because i hit so much further with such less effort, and i dont expect it! you have to be told how good you are. thanks!
Listen very carefully because this is your best chance. Last week I had a "real" golf lesson with this guy in Sydney. My view and understanding of the golf swing has now changed forever. My basic FEELING, allow hands to pass within inchs of both your knees. ( 8:51 on this video ) Then watch all of this guys lessons. Thanks very much Bradley.
Brad! As a fellow Aussie living and teaching in the US, I could not agree with you more! Your insight and understanding into the golf swing is first class! I really enjoy your vids! Pay attention people, you may just learn something!! Thanks!! By the way, I always loved watching your swing back when you were competing!
I just found you on You Tube, I am a senior golfer only been playing about 3 years and have struggled from day one with the game. Followed some other instruction method I have be faithful to but as of today I am starting over. I read Hogan's book and seen the flatter swing plane is way better for me, but all this other stuff of so called 'instruction" has done me no good! Brad you make more sense to me than anyone I have ever watched, you tell us how to instead of you need to do it this way. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from North Carolina, USA
How pure is this, coming from a real player. To me a proper golf swing is similar to that of any other sport that requires a swinging motion, ie baseball, cricket, tennis, etc. All involve rotation from ground up and controlled by the bigger, core muscles in the body rather than the hands and arms, although it might look different because it's swung on a more upright plane and a tad more difficult as the point of contact with the ball is not the shaft but a clubhead that extends out from the shaft. I've spent tens of thousands (probably enough to afford a new small car) on lessons with four different coaches in Melbourne over a decade, two of whom coach tour players, but they never taught me how a proper swing should feel like (or maybe they did, but I never understood it as they intended). I think it's invaluable to get tips like these from a touring pro like Brad. I spent much time trying to learn from watching how others swing, but the difficulty with that, for me anyway, was that because we view swings from (typically) down the line or from the front, often it gives false perception of the swing. I think people talking about conscious hip rotation, release of the club, rotation of the forearm, conscious cocking, lag, etc are turning golf into some sort of academic discipline. Many RUclips clips are a case in point. I think too many people waste their time and effort on hitting the 'correct' positions and analysing their swings in bits with meaningless slow replay. Just wanted to share with those in search of the right 'feel' like myself. Perhaps I'm generalising, but anyone who can use their body to 'swing' an object should be able to develop a decent swing. Unfortunately most of us become so obsessed with the correct swing that we end up deserting our short game. Thanks for posting Brad, hopefully I would get an opportunity to see you for a lesson when I return to Australia. And almost forgot to mention the footage of Hogan - simply gold. Cheers, David from London.
One of the greatest instructional videos. I am 6.1 200lbs, flattened all my irons and I am hitting lasers. I outdrove all guys in my group last week off the tee and normally I am 20 yards back from a long scratch hitter. Thanks brad, when you coming to Texas for a clinic?
I think that only above average players will get this video. And this is a GREAT video at that too. I'm at the stage where I'm trying to control my fade and draws with my release and using a 4* open driver. So thanks for uploading and for your time! Wish you are local.
in your 4:30 video you say keep the left arms away from your body to create room? in this video you say to keep the upper left arm connected to the body ?? which one is it , I can't do both
this is awesome! This is what tiger is working on to? A really cool simple way of releasing the club. i have tried the toe method and it has never worked for me, this does. thank you!
I generally suggest people to at least start out 3 or 4 flatter than their current clubs. You will begin to see the difference and then evolve more and more. Flatter motion aided by flatter clubs eventually allow the swing to come around and around, engaging the pivot turn, engaging the feet as support....When you see the results and how tighter your ball dispersion becomes you just keep going until it all meets in the right spot for you. I have mine set up at approx 5 flat of today's standards
Hi Brad great video I have always had trouble with my release and generating more power with a constant toe type divot will have to try your tip out, keep you posted on progress. I also just learned that you went to St.Bedes? I think I was a couple of years behind you, would love to get a lesson next time your home in Melbourne. Once again thank you for a great video and will check out all your other stuff too.
Thanks, Bradley: how does the instruction in this video differ from others in which you teach a "separation" of the arms from the body in the downswing, leading to a "reconnection" at impact and beyond? The video' reference to Hogan with the arms being connected to the body is a contradiction of your other teachings. I am sure it is not meant to be, so I am certain that I am missing a vital distinction. Thanks.
This video seems to be directly conflicting with your video "Hand Path..Out Is Down"?? In this video you talk about keeping the arms in tight to the body, in " Hand Path..Out Is Down" you talk about separation of the left upper and the body. What am I missing? Which is correct or are they both happening?
It's interesting, but the more I swing with my body, the more I seem to hook the ball. I am going to get my irons bent 4 or 5 degrees flatter...hopefully the hook with leave. Would you suggest that I get my modern driver & fairways woods flattened as well?
Hi Bradley! I finish high like you show in the video but i only carry my driver 240.. Would love to play the back tees some day but it's hard being 140 pounds. I lose my spine angle at impact do you see anything that can maybe help me??
You are releasing the club with your hands....dumping the head into the ground....you HAVE to move your focus much farther along the train of feel and thought... if you load angles you get rid of them LATE...feeling the acceleration AFTER impact so the angles are released by pressures of the swing..and not by trying to get rid of them yourself
I've watched loads of vids on RUclips and said I'm done with watching these golf vids.Ive just subscribed because I'm hoping this Brad can help. This is defo my last chance to get some distance back.If I can't get some help out of these vids from Brad I'm done..
Hi. When a steep player starts to do this action he comes a lot shallower in to the ball than usual and starts hitting the ball fat more. Why is that?? And what do we do to not hit it fat.
Brad. What are your thoughts for someone who hangs back in the impact area. It seems like by keeping my shoulders back and focusing on forearm release, I hang back at times especially with longer clubs.
hi brad, pls can u confirm what is the incorrect technique for the release. the correct technique, as i understand it, is just like the hogan example swing with your arms to your body with the full swing just be an extension of that "armless swing". summary: what is the incorrect technique for the release - couldn't fathom it from the video? thx for ur videos brad we all appreciate it.
Robert Bernard no- no chance if you release club.. most shanks are from over the top swings that bring the heel across the path rather than from inside path
Thanks so much for this instruction. This is amazing stuff. I have been working on this for years and I am extremely close to having the swing I have always wanted. Thank you!! When you say irons should be 3 or 4 degrees flatter than today's standard do you mean every iron? 3- lw? Thanks again
If I do like you I lose clubhead speed ,I prefer accelerating with my arms and hands “ on plane “ ( yes like flipping !) I just concentrate about my body position on the backswing I need to be on my front foot and exaggerate it on the downswing,my ball is straight and fast ,the club is steeper and I squeeze the ball against the turf every time .
Probably the best video Ive seen about the golf swing in 15 years. I keep coming back to it !
This 10 minute video changed my game overnight! Terrific insight to the swing. Well done Bradley and thank you. Tim UK

U r genius sir. Still not too late for me to learn this way . No one ever told. It makes sense to me. Thanks a million.
this is why you are a great pro, your videos are gold
This is the best golf instruction out there. Thank you ever so much, Bradley Hughes.

How much did you flatten your irons?
I enjoyed this vid and the heal tip sounds right to me.Thanks Brad.Nice of you to include the legend Mo Norman.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job as always Brad.
Thankyou D..... Having you believe in my stuff makes my job easier

Well spoken and demonstrated! !st Class!!
What a great and novel way to think of it.
this is awesome! This is what tiger is working on to? A really cool simple way of releasing the club. i have tried the toe method and it has never worked for me, this does. thank you!
This is good stuff ! I love it really good players know how to explain the golf swing and not some Pros who can barley break 80

Another amazing video as always Brad. Any update on when you'll be offering the series of internet lessons?
I’ve been watching youtube golf videos for years. Just found you and am having problems turning you off. Love your explanations. Where’ve you been??
afruchter been here for ages
thankyou...glad you liked

this man is a golf genius
I like the idea of the heel. I raise up and have a heavy toe divot if at all.
Thankyou downunder.. simple & logical sure beats the alternative!!
How does this approach relate to the 4:30 path and swing out to go down? Are these two different approaches to the golf swing?
Awesome content. Do you think this release would work with Gary Edwin’s right sided swing set up position and staying in the reverse K? Thanks
Brilliant ⛳️🏌🏼🏌🏻♂️
@Springsteen1978 Congrats Springsteen. Glad it helped. No plans for TX right now, maybe one day!!
Simply the best! I would love to have lesson with You.
I don't understand the tight circle if the pictures show full extension after impact.

I know you wrote this 8 years ago but his guys are winning and contending with this approach.

Is this #12 at pebble creek golf club?

body will move as the forearms unwind and come back to the body tight
can you do a vid on pitching using this swing ty
Brilliant

I've been hitting a lot of fat shots doing this is there anything I can do it fix this
If you use the heel of the club, is there not a great possibility of the ball coming into contact with the hosel and a potential shank?
Robert Bernard no- no chance if you release club.. most shanks are from over the top swings that bring the heel across the path rather than from inside path
Cheers!
Very good vid and info.

That compressions comes from squeezing the ball against the turf is a myth
⛳
good content mate
This guy knows his s**t
Nice.
like Hogan said, you can't walk around a course doing this 4:15 all day.
your instructon has changed ! Nowadays you advocate a separation of the left arm in the downswing to work "out"
Choco Not at all- this video is more about into and thru impact- not the downswing. If they are feeling out then they pack back in
i messaged you my swing
It’s called the Grill. Not the pro shop. Come on. Do better.
