yeah, both the 49er and the 29er are terribly underbuilt. Early 29ers would fold up like a taco if you left too much tension on the rig. Still fun, fast, light boats. wouldn't see the transom as a particular weakness though. Usually it's the bulkhead under the mast that's the weakest spot.
Like a well-oiled machine. This is truly awesome stuff
What a blast! That looks like so much fun (plus a lot of practice tacks semi-submerged maybe?) Also the editing is SUPERB!
I'm an aspiring young mirror sailor, I hope one day I get into boats like these
Used to race the B14 awesome when you turn onto the reach and power up, would have love to done the 49er, now sadly too old.
I've got a b14 and 49er both a blast downwind
49er with hydrofoils would be interesting
awesome video
As one Ozzy dude said: "Sailing a skiff is better than sex".
why did you cut out the tacks? sad, that's the part i wanted to see.

Everytime I see a 49er I look at that scalloped transom and see a terrifying weakness.

Ouch. Well if your going to cheat on build quality for maximum devestation, the bulkhead would be the place.
The only thing making me not like it is that you added music in the video!
Very poor editing indeed. Don't watch it you want to learn anything here.
You said that in this video already!
Poor editing.
you're the only one to care
Yes, very poor. All the hard bits edited out.
The only thing I care about right now is that they put music in the video
Great video and amazing editing
