Why not consider the whole thing backward, i.e. the nazi regime being a US creation? After all, the US was committing a genocide with the native indian population in the 20's. Furthermore, the skull and bones mark on nazi uniforms really resembles that of the very old and secretive "Skull &Bones" association in Yale University and is said to hide Jeronimo's bones; the two Bush presidents are members of this club according o Wikipedia. I don't agree completely on the whole thing being motivated by greed. I’ll never own another IBM Typewriter as long as I live!!! Number 1. They had a healthy relationship with the NAZIs; 2. The machines were for me more difficult than average to keep running. Five or six years was about all the life I could get out of one with all the tricks I learned about typewriter repair. I’ll never own anything by IBM again.
Andrew Burns Oh you’d be surprised. Writers, scrapbookers, people who fill out forms, government workers, letter writers, and the list goes on and on. There are type-ins and various libraries and coffeehouses the world over. People get together and write poems and letters on the street while their customers wait. The typewriter is still very much in use right now.
So it looks like you’re saying that if their machine lasted longer you’d probably be very happy with it and proud of IBM. Your #1 and #2 thinking is bizarre.
Follow Me First of all, even if IBM typewriters, which were manufactured by the same company who manufactured and ran the Hollerith Tabulators in the Concentration camps in NAZI Germany, and that decided who was to live and die, were the most reliable typewriters on Earth, I wouldn’t have one. A corporation who trades with the enemy during wartime is guilty of treason, and IBM was and is mostly unapologetic of that. And their typewriters were mostly unreliable-at least the ones I tried to keep running anyway.
