*We hope you all enjoyed this Yu-Gi-Oh relic DVD just as much as Trell did! Maybe you ever learned something, even in 2024!* 😅
Got that mortal combat theme
I miss Trell man where have u been
Sdd
Konami did .... kinda make there own official one with the yugi kaiba starter decks and the dark paladin
My legit reaction upon clicking this video was "TRELL'S BACK?!"
Where did he go?
For a moment I forgot they were 4 or more in number of members, THAT is how long it has been since Trell last showed up 😅
"A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one."
I freaking love seeing trell on videos I no longer play but I always enjoy hearing him break things down
@@comentaristametaforico9287Alec and Trell made a vid together on aps amplifier about a week ago
Exactly!
4:17 The confused look on that kids face lol
"Darn it, I thought wearing my cowboy hat would make me immune to trap cards!"
I dislike easy wins because then it puts the opponent in a bad mood, and when my opponent's in a bad mood, I am too. I enjoy back and forth games because it gets exciting, I lose the ability to make mistakes, and it really feels like a duel rather than throwing my cards at a brick wall. And after all the effort, whether I win or lose, I feel satisfied with the duel, and I can tell my opponent had a good time.
THIS. 100 percent.
Amen brotha
Same. I like something I once heard about the player types... "Spike likes high quantity wins... Johnny likes high quality wins" - the best games for me are the ones where my opponent and I are on an even playing field and I manage to grasp victory anyways.
“It’s not the winning that’s important. It’s the challenge of the game.”
Says an EXODIA player 😂
Yeah Exodia to easy and boring that's why not many people play it because there's no challenge to it it's not fun or intresting anymore
Literally every single competitive deck : turn one i search 37 cards out of my deck, special summon 23 cards and end my turn with 12,000 atk on board 7 negates and you turn ends on standby phase. Yeah real fun and interesting. Just barf your entire deck on the field and win because you went first. You can save yourself $3000 by just doing the coin flip to determine the winner and not wasting 15 minutes on a 1 turn game.
@@epicschwartz my deck draws half the deck and ends on infinite negate plus can board wipe opponents field 3 times so my deck does win instantly
@@JadenYukiBruceLee I love how you just proved thier point. Nice try
@@wigglytuffgaming of coarse I proved there point that's why the game can be quite boring now a days
I used to have a deck of a few hundred cards. I was so embarrassed when I went to a tournament and everyone had small decks. Yes, I was that kid.
That grass looks greener is technically the strongest card ever printed if we go off the pre deck size limit rule change and had all cards of the modern day
@@magus641 It didn't exist in the game before the deck size rule
@@stonalisa3729 i am aware, that's why i said it would be the most broken card in the hypothetical situation
24:23 thats coconut head from ned's declassified school survival guide 😂😂😂
Lol that's so freaking funny for some reason.
He seems to be having a much easier time at THIS school
So glad I'm not the only one who noticed hahaha
I didn't see this comment until I made one of my own saying the same thing hahaha I thought I was crazy, so I'm glad someone else saw it too!
Trell's look-to-camera when the guy said "forbidden deck" was gold 😂
Always good seeing Trell.
Also, OJ shout-out 😂
the fact that charlie from charlie's angels is the instructor of the video makes it weird and funny
A lot of the tips and tricks in these DVDs would be beneficial for somebody for starting out. It just needs a modern updating I would say. A cool idea for you guys to do is to take inspiration from this DVD to make modern versions of this. Of the tips and tricks it's showing because some of the advice is pretty good. I think it would make the game more accessible if more RUclipsrs would make videos similar to this DVD in a way.
When the kid said ''I've beat everyone here already'' and Trell went ''you aint beat me!'' hahahaha!
A Trell video is always a good time
Been waiting so long for this video and Trell is the Goat. Bring Chris back already. We need our big lad back
I'm definitely answering "Do you want to continue" and chains with "No and f*&K you" from now on.
I really like they put the PS1 Yugioh Forbidden Memories battle music in the background, great choice guys. :)
Nice to see that Yu-Gi-Oh has changed sooo much yet so little at the same time 😂
I love the idea that these guys had no idea how in 2024 people would still be watching their tutorials and making their DVDs relevant
I have never EVEERRR in my life called Attack, Ay Tee Kay.
Seeing that school of duel cover art unlocked a memory from a dusty corner of my brain. I think I rented this from blockbuster
I still have this DVD somewhere. I love the unlimited cards part
I actually personally think as far as old school goes Pog is better. Before graveyard effects were as common. But Graceful has gotten way more busted over time.
I found these as a kid @ a thrift store & thought it would be like the anime so I begged my mom to buy them for 1.50$ each but learned the hard way when I got home that we didnt have a dvd player yet 😂
I rented these videos all the time as a kid and I genuinely loved them
I'd have loved this as a kid, I grew up in a village and the local store didn't get packs, we had to travel to the next town over for that... even then there were never any structure decks so learning from this would be helpful.
as for talk of the playground... yeah over here even if you used your printer with stock A4 paper and printed god cards you were the talk of the playground
The person who wants to build a cute deck reminds me of how I used to make a deck (and it was one of the reasons I built a madolche deck).
22:38 Tbh, the better card for him to tell her about would've been Friendship, with that request. Also pretty funny that we actually have _exactly_ what she's talking about now, the Rikka Fairies as an example, though despite their cute exterior, they're actually able to pack a punch, and hold their own.
Wait, the dvd really had a mixed version of Mortal Kombat as the intro?!
I was the Dark Magician kid back in school, so I had a history of successfully using Diffusion Wave Motion lol.
I love it when yall do this type of video
You guys should see about finding the cast members of these instructional videos and challenging them to a duel lol.
Oh man those sleeves are old school Ultra Pro sleeves. They had such a big gap and the foil backing would fade so fast lmao
Very good video, maybe teamaps, should have had the professor watch those school of duel dvds. Who knew coconut head was in the video xD.
Always good seeing Paul and Trell together!
Trell is the reason why I subscribed to this channel.
The dvd actually explains what pot of greed does 10/10 dvd
But what does pot of greed do?
I'm pretty sure I had those exact sleeves for my cards. They were gold, and at some point the backing started to wear off because of being shuffled and played
Let's goooo!!!!!! Another reaction 🎉🎉🎉
That looks Trey had when Paul mentioned OJ Simpson just scream "Paul where the hell you're going with this?!"
I love that you guys used yugioh GX BGM game music for this video ❤
Was catching up on some of these misc. vids, and 15:04 has me in stitches.
Paul's shirt looking like something Chris Chan would wear back in the day
It does omg. It's Jarvis Johnson merch 😂
Nah. He looks like Winnie the pooh
Trell’s been gone for a while, good to have him back, if only for one video
That “do you wish to continue” felt so ominous…
Old school is fire!
Pretty sure when you did the first DVD was when I found your channel. Not sure if I watched it when it was released or not but I've been a fan from that first view.
That first kid is the most adorable kid I've ever seen
I used to have this one that i could play on the tv WAY back in the day that had the voices of Yugi and Joey. It was an interactive DVD that came with kaiba deck and yugis deck i think.
I used to borrow these DVDs from the library I LOVED watching them. They were enjoyable
I'm here for this!
Good to see Trell pop up. I'm also wearing a hat brother. BGC!!!
Paul "He reminds me of OJ Simpson....."
Please let this have been recorded before he died lmao
Many decks now will be almost completely composed of effect monsters, but will still have at least 5 or so spell/trap cards.
ppl are saying heavy could come back because its at 1 in the ocg currently
i though the thumbnail was calvin. I was about to watch this vid 7 millions times
I miss Calvin, where's he been?
Change of heart and snatch steal are beloved to my monarch deck
I haven’t laughed this hard in AWHILE 😂 12:58 KILLED me
That last kid is definitely Coconut Head from Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide
Mirage Dragon with Axe of Despair was my favorite combo back then.
Prevented my opponent from activating powerful Traps like Sakuretsu Armor or Mirror Force 😮
I remember having a vhs for the pokemon tcg from that company
The kid with the sword was ready to slice ppl up if he lost a duel lol.
ah, the good old days when the GY was the GY and not another hand to play.
I swear I had those exact gold sleeves and the gold would wear down very quickly lol
I had one on VHS but it wasn’t this one, find the other one and do a video on that one too please 🙏
We probably already have at some point actually!
18:17
"You must be talking about the forbidden one"
*Trell looks to camera*
I'm dead bro, who wrote this script lmfao
Trell is in this episode!!
Wish I could go back in time and show these people cards from the future: Shining Neos Wingman, Diabellstar, Linkuriboh, Alba Zoa Dogmatika etc.
Their reactions would be priceless lmaoooo
I enjoyed the dvd from the DMG set it was just a fun way to play with 2 basic decks
Yayyy, Paul and I are the same age😂 I've honestly been trying to guess
Wait, “trying my best” isn’t that Jarvis’s merch.
Something I just realized about this DVD: That Raigeki they show at 13:15 has been photoshopped.
Raigeki didn't come out as a "Spell Card" till after this DVD came out, and the text for "Spell Card" is clearly darker then the other cards shown.
This is low-key depressing because this is the game I fell in love with, the one yug used to play on the TV show
I like how there are some people who actually take this advice
Can y'all make more how we use to play Yu-Gi-Oh back then and if I said it wrong it's because it been a long time since I what it
Love you Trell 🦾
That random OJ comment has me rolling! 😂
We need more videos today with acting like this. It's a lot more fun.
I will say the video at least spoke simple English most of the time. Though the cards were not nearly as crazy as they are now.
I'm like 90% sure the kid with the bowl cut is Coconut Head from Ned's Declassified (around 24:00). Is that just me or do other people see it too? lol
I'm a pretty recent fan of APS (and not a Yu-Gi-Oh! player at all) But it made me do a doubletake seeing you wearing JJ merch lol, I just finished the newest episode of Sad Boyz before watching this lol.
Yeah I actually got to meet him a few years back. Great dude, very funny and thoughtful, too! So I had to support him and buy the merch
@@TeamAPS Oh wow, that's super cool. It's always weird and cool to see reminders or cameos of people I'm a fan of in drastically different areas of youtube lol.
What do you guys think about gimmick puppets?
Are these DVDs available anywhere online? I want to watch them real bad.
They're watching them on RUclips
@@Daily6969 Oh, nice! I'm a dope for not noticing - thanks!
How many counter traps existed around 2004?
please make more funny videos guys, love u ❤️
Hey, I was winning my locals most weeks with my girly ass Harpy Lady deck. It was awesome. So glad I got typecast into it.
26:58, Trell's reaction was funny.
The card economy is such a quirky phrase
Do they teach summoning Dark Magician without tributes, though?
Nope, you have to tribute summon it.
You know...I wonder if "Professor Duel" actually won any real-life tournament 🤔
Pretty sure The Weevile kid is in a movie called The Sasquatch Gang
That was a thing back 20 mosters 10 spell n 10 traps I play in tournaments back then and my friends we all did good n I even won but it did demp on what deck u had some decks I had pla y 15 mosters 15 spell 10 traps
A other one I had had 25 mosters 5 traps 10 spell
So it really did depend on the decks u play
The weevil haircut 😂😂
"ME!"
You one day, if it's not today."
XD
6:15
The future of Yu Gi Oh right there
15:06 He reminds me of OJ Simpson 😂
He really does!
He really does lol I thought that at 6:04 or whenever he first appeared but when Paul mentioned it later, I flatlined
back in 2003-2004 ish, the chaos meta. My ratio was about 17~18: 16~17: 6
you didnt need that many monsters because special summon wasnt a thing, and too many monster would clog your hand.
And for the traps, its just the staples, Ring of des, Mirror Force, Call of the haunted, Imperial Order, Torrential (maybe at 2, or waboku/magic cylinder)
spells are mostly the staples too.
1:1:1 is just bad, like, 13,13,13 is bad, even 20:20 doesn't really work.
I'd be funny if someone could find these kids and ask them about their experience in these videos
Ok this was fun
Hi, I forgot you guys still existed
Welcome back! 😅
Oh god, I’ve seen this before. True gold 😂.
I learned the game through structure decks they came in 40 so I stuck to 40 but the shiny bit yea I'd stare at the neos from the tins that was so cool looking but I never used that shit lol
Konami needs to make a modern day yugioh "School of Duel" learning Video Series. Start with basics and each video goes up to more complicated topics.
They do at least have some tutorial videos on the official Yu-Gi-Oh channel
@@TeamAPS Wow i didn't know they made those videos just 6 months ago. I watched them all and they did a pretty good job explaining the basics, but i think they should've dived more deeper into the Chain Link tutorial. Many players still get confused with Spell-Speed and "Missing the Timing".
I believe Konami needs to fix the "Missing the Timing" with Errata improvements. I've seen many comments showing yugioh players frustration with trying to understand it.
I was thinking the same thing hahah and 15:07
