Love the E70s. My 12' X5 diesel stage 2.9 full delete has been my daily/winter ride for a long time now. These units are tanks!! 250,000 miles so far and still good for another 250,000 miles.
That was my childhood car from 2008 to 2022. My dad specced it with an N62 however. The sound of it will always bring back memories. Unfortunately we had to get rid of the car because the N62 was a disaster. In early 2021 we had issues with the engine burning oil. It eventually started leaking oil and coolant. It also had several other issues that I can’t specifically remember but it would have required my father to take the block out of the car. Eventually he got rid of the car( it was worth 6k at that point) and got a 2023 X5 40i(B58).
The n52 is great when you’re in a smaller car like a 1 or 3 series. That’s what I used to have in my 328i. When I realized that it was getting the same mpg as an n54 or n55. I now have an n55 and it’s definitely not as smooth as my old n52 but I love it as well.
I'm glad I got a v8, sounds like we share the same issues oil filler neck gasket leak, water hoses, fuel consumption in the high teens 18s, the idrives won't last forever but I' upgraded mines other then that it's comfortable has decent speed has the growl n u know we liked the sunroof
The newer b58 x5 would be pretty sweet I bought the first gen X5 with manual trans, it was a lot to get it back on the road, but it's been great to drive
These cars are good for single poeple that want a electronics hooby. 😂 I think the chassis on all the 2010ish e series cars are exquisite. All the engines are quite special as well. Manuals swaps are super easy compared with newer models. Unlocked tcu and ecu. Donor cars are available and there are a lot of interchangeable parts. Now that values have gone back to some what normal, these cars are great deals.

2008 to 2022, that’s 14 years of usage and in an X5, that’s great in my book. I don’t know how much it cost to get 14 years of service.

Get the X3 i40
Should I buy it from the Auction? 🤣 what issues did it currently have aside from the oil pan gasket?
So you're saying you need an X5M next haha?
thats wild
100k+ miles is not that way big to be honest
next 50k-100k will show how reliable it is
