I would bet that almost every company has a bunch of developers that really want to improve, fix and enhance the core components of their product. It's the first thing that gets built when no one can really tell how big the product eventually grows, what exact type of users you gonna get and what their main feature is they'll use etc. Also the team building the core components probably used some new tech that everybody uses now, and there is a good chance they use it not to the full potential. So that talk has some info for a lot of people because there is a good chance you are currently in on of the mentioned steps of a project. 😅 It's hard to compare those ticket-priorities to other external tickets. Also those changes are not directly generating money. So it's even harder to put those in the spotlight. Not an easy task. Additionally it seems rough to find new developers that really want to dig into those older systems.
