Self-deprecation is a sign that the person is not full of himself so to speak Sometime it is the people themselves that praise the scholars to the sky forgetting that scholars are human and everyone want a favorable feedback.. but I will say that you sir are sincere to talk about naf and aware that Shaitan can fool anyone even very pious and religious people.
