Hi Folks. Just Here at the Sprinter Store. Today I'm going to be showing you how to adjust your Koni brand shocks and struts.
I will be demonstrating on a 2638 strut.
You will also need a 3-inch ratchet with a 5/16ths socket on the end.
Now, to properly adjust, you will need to compress your strut all the way down.
I have my Allen in the loosening position.
Press that strut all the way down.
You will need to find your sweet spot.
When I do all of these turns I will be rotating just the base of my strut.
I will not be rotating the top section of my strut at all.
Once you find the sweet spot then go ahead and turn the base of the strut in a clockwise direction until it comes to a stop.
If done correctly then it will pull your ratchet with you.
That is your zero on the spectrum.
Turn your rachet to the tightening position to find your hundred mark.
You will need to count your rotations at this point.
It will make it easier when setting your adjustment.
To find 100 you will want to spin just the base of the strut to the counterclockwise direction.
Make sure to count those returns (rotations).
That's one-quarter turn.
One-half turn.
3/4 of a turn.
One full turn is all this strut has.
All the different struts have different amounts of rotations so you will need to count no matter what strut you end up with.
Now, being that we set them here at the Sprinter Store 75%, all I need to do is rotate my strut one-quarter of a turn.
So I set my ratchet to loosening insert it into the top and press it down.
Turn the base of the strut in a clockwise direction a quarter of a turn.
It is as easy as that.
