Sof, sof! Shir Mishmar. A serious composition to serious milim. But it's being sung in a very automatic way, without meaning. The soloist was best. But I've heard this done with more - heart. It took me quite some time to master both the words and the melody.

This has been an indifferent collection of songs, most not appealing to my sensibility. I have heard better by Sasha Argov. The Israel Opera has a lot of his songs, his best songs. Of course, Shir Mishmar is a beautiful and tragic composition. But performed here indifferently. Israel was less sophisticated in 1976 when this shidur was broadcast.
