I am really debating between this and the yamaha YDS 120 that just got announced that is less than half the price ($500usd). Both are pretty much midi controllers that help you learn fingerings, how have you liked the emeo? Is it worth 1550? or should I just get the yds 120 for 500$
Good question: personally I love the feel of an authentic horn in my hands. It helps with muscle memory especially when I couldn’t play loud in my apartment. I checked out the YDS 120 just now and it will definitely get the job done on a budget. If you have the extra to spend, every bit helps with neuromuscular practice. But certainly nothing wrong with that Yamaha product!
@@aznjazzerwell said. I have both. The Yamaha and the Travel Sax (not mentioned but also in the Arena) are toys. Fun and effective but not “real”. The Emeo is the real deal. In my opinion, it’s like comparing a Vespa with a Harley Road King for crisp-country touring.
I hear ya. Eventually I’ll move out of my apartment and into a house. But I suppose I can use it when I don’t want to wake the kids and it’s late. So it’ll still be useful even after I move.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. However, if it looks like a saxophone, handles like a saxophone but does not make a sound like a saxophone, or any sound at all for that matter, it's not a saxophone. It's midi controller or at best a wind synthesizer.
Love the detail of everything. Looks like the company is passionate about their product.
Can't wait. Mine is on the way.
I DIDN'T GET A SAX MOUTHPIECE WITH A REED
It looks like someone took the neck, bow, and bell off an alto and left the body, very nice
Both the EMEO and this video look gorgeous. I know what my tax refund is going to be used for now.
I didn't receive a saxophone mouthpiece ????

I want one but I am wondering long term what’s the value. It looks great and interesting but hmmm…

Yes.
Which for me is a selling point.
