Haven't been out picking puha for ages but good to see you and Rubba out doing it. Lovely and fresh and crunch when you pick it you can't beat it. Delicious boil up to finish, great work Mike 😊
I'm glad I was eating a double cheese and bacon burger for the last bit, Mike. lol Made me hungry. You are right tho a boil up the next day is always better, sweet
I remember foraging for puha (late 50's) on the roadside to Te Iringa with my grandmother and preparing them for the pot like you did.... nice memories.
Was walking to work at 6am this morning my friend and I stopped In at our local bakery to buy our hot drinks, and a Māori guy approached us with $10 bags of prickly puha. He had washed them clean and broken them down nicely. Could not resist..They will be for toroi😊 Nurses feast😋
Shot around the Kaitaia flea market support our community making toroi today hope I didn’t spell that wrong following your sister’s recipe looks absolutely delicious thanks for sharing with us🥳

Unfortunately she doesn't want to learn foraging and growing kai
@WekaDigitalMediaNZ Don't give up on her, she just may change her mind when she gets a bit older!

The whitebait spot is not like it used to be thanks to the regional council 😒

Tiotio means prickly
Yummo bro
Very much so 🙂
Was that a grim reaper lure?
Tomato sauce bro whew and sausages
Don’t want to tell you to suck eggs, however have you thought about smoking some of the pork for the boil up rather than pan searing?
Pork bones and Thai geen curry paste and coconut milk. Solid az chur
I have done a vid of a smoked meat boil up and to be honest I only sear the meat because it looks fancy. 😀
Thanks for the reply. Love your Webber taste test videos. They convinced me to get that little Webber and I tell you it’s great!
You stole that puha from in front of my beach house...
And what a front garden it is
