I have an 83, and the best upgrade I did was the aussie jib halyard with the tension system. Next, was shimming the pylons to get a tighter fit to eliminate all the play and wiggles. After that was tuning the rudders. Once all that was done, it was very smooth sailing from then on.

I can't believe you're right here! If you find yourself near Lake Jocassee in SC definitely check it out! Miles and miles of untouched natural shoreline between ancient mountain peaks, dotted with 80ft waterfalls directly into the lake. And water so clear you can easily make out details in the boulders down to like 30ft. We're often out there on our Hobie One!

    Hello Joseph,
I'm not much of a networker.
But I can't find the right words to thank you for your wonderful videos.
Your work is magnificent and above all very explicit.
    I'm from Belgium.
I have to use English to French subtitles and sometimes the words in French are special, but it's easy to understand what you're talking about.
We're beginners and we bought a 1984 HC16 and for a beginner it's incredible the sensations we have with this boat.
We're also trying to update it ...
If you're ever looking for a subject for an upcoming video, why not the assembly of a mast float (baby bob).
I look forward to seeing your new videos in the next few hours.
    Best wishes and thanks again.
    Bonjour Joseph,

Thanks very much for your kind words.
I'll see if I can find a mast head float. That's a great topic for a video.
      Good luck with your 16

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
I don't quite understand how to fit my masthead float as there is only 1 hole in my float (diameter +/- 8.5mm) and the diameter of the masthead pulley is very small (+/- 5-6mm).
Do I need to drill a hole in the mast ????
Good luck and I'm looking forward to the video.... ahahahah🤣🤣

@@davidmaertens2941 I've filmed for the video, I'll get that one out today.
What I think may be the case is that you have the USA style mast head with 2 pulleys in which case, you may need to ask on one of the Hobie Sailors groups on FB as I haven't experience with that style of fitting

Your kinda a pro semi-celebrity in my book... can't believe you are state side... What a gas!! ...I thought of you as a hard core European cat living and sailing in your cove, but now you'r like super pro and sailing some familiar waters... thanks for keeping the Hobie stoke high.
