  • Penned by the late great Leon Ware as well as Pam Sawyer and recorded by the likes of The Average White Band and Quincy Jones. 'If I ever lose this heaven' in the hands of the wonderful Maxine Nightingale is a thing of joy - her vocals just soaring especially on the line 'Way Up There' - WOW! If anybody knows where this vision comes from, please comment. Maxine included it on her debut LP 'Right Back Where We Started From' which generated her first 2 major hits: the title track and 'Gotta Be The One'. Maxine is one beautiful and talented vocalist.

I like or love everything Maxine Nightingale did! I have 3 albums of her. I did a rewrite / photo tribute to "Right Back Where We Started From" but I'd only include the link here with your permission. I like her version and Average White Band's version of "If I Ever Lose This Heaven" about equally. Great work, thanks for posting this, Dave! :-)
