This animation literally held me on the verge of tears, it really hits deep especially if you imagine yourself in that situation, (which I do to help understand the character/story) having someone who you considered a friend utterly slaughter everyone you hold dear to you, now that's something that would break anyone. this was such a great animation and I'm glad I got the chance to watch it, great work and keep it up.

Zamasu could work into this, a theme about good vs evil and healing and finding solace. He could manipulate Goku black with his emotions, making zamasu more evil by manipulating Goku black, maybe he was the reason Vegeta went Majin ssj3 in his universe. It could end with Goku black beating zamasu, but dying as he finds peace and goes to meet all his friends in the afterlife

What's the piano one though.
When he hits Vegeta or when Vegeta gets a hit on him, you can hear the sadness in his voice. Even his Kamehameha sounds sad too. I think I like this Goku Black better, as he’s not evil and wanting to wipe out mortals, rather he’s a broken man with a blackened heart who just lost everything. And has fully became Kakarot.
I would make this a story of how he never felt solace after killing Vegeta and have him lash out by trying to kill Goku in the main timeline as a means of getting back what he's lost. And I would make it better by giving him a sense of fear of losing it all by having him try to kill Vegeta, but finding it very difficult because he's facing their God forms. But, the memories of what his Vegeta did would push him to achieving Super Saiyan Rose because his pain starts tampering with Saiyan transformations.

This is hands down one of the best dragon ball fan fictions I’ve ever been privileged enough to enjoy (right up there with Ultra Vegito). The way Goku grabbed Chi-Chi to sit down with his dead family and put her earring on hit me right in the feels. Very big props guys, please keep this going.

I enjoy this version of Goku Black a lot more. And the seamless transition between the shadow form and Goku becoming Goku Black is awesome.
Not just becoming Goku Black, he also became Kakarot. And instead of being evil, he’s angry, sad, lost and broken. After losing everything, including his wife and the blackening of his heart, there really wasn’t anything else to live for.

It got me crying alot specially when Goku was with his dead family it was very emotional for me. This should be Goku Black's origin story completely
And after his loss to good goku. He tells goku that he needs to hold on to everything he holds dear, but he needs to keep an eye on the vegeta.
If this was the direction the story had gone, the impact would be much stronger than the one in super because this tugs at your heart more. I also think that this version of Goku black would be more rageful towards Vegeta as he was responsible for everyone's death in his universe

This...was simply amazing. I was genuinely moved to tears at the end. I grew up watching Dragon Ball as a child all those years ago, i lived the journey with Goku growing as a child into the man he is today. The absolute gut wrench that I had when he held his wife in his hands, and put on that earring...i dont like it. Thats why its so genuine. Amazing work.

I agree, Goku Black was the possibly the greatest storyline in dragon ball in terms of potential but it was not to be I guess.

I have a way to make goku black tie into zamasu without simply being zamasu, and the solution really is simple. Zamasu makes a wish to Super Shenron to transport him back to the time and place where goku was sent to Earth (or was born, either way it works) and have Zamasu raise Kakarot with the specific goal to kill mortals. As for Rosé, just explain it as ssj mixed with Zamasu’s unique kai energy. To make it even more interesting, Goku Black wouldn’t even know how to do a Kamehameha, but he sees Goku do it and due to how quickly he’s able to learn techniques, is able to mimic the kamehameha and we get a kamehameha clash between the two. Anyway, basically goku black is a version of goku that would likely be more Saiyan-like (due to no head bump) and is manipulated by Zamasu to do his bidding. We could even see a scene where Vegeta sees a lot of himself in Black, as he knows what it’s like to live a life being used by someone else. We could have a scene where Vegeta tries to reason with Black, only for it to fail but make Black start to question his actions a little more. Eventually this could lead to a Black who isn’t really sure who he is anymore, and stops listening to Zamasu and is more…neutral. Of course this is only a what if scenario, but I think it would be quite an interesting take on Goku Black
Honestly I could see how this story aka the animation could have zamasu help goku with zamasu doin a bit of manipulation and it’s with zamasu telling goku to go to future trunks timeline and kill the ones who are still alive because why should his sons die but not vegetas, why should his wife die but not vegeta

and it's actually a good factor, that Goku felt someone with a "pure heart" fell into hatred and fury to levels where evil and pain took over him.
and with a new transformation that represents that now there is pure darkness in him, perhaps with the name of "Black Saiyan or Black Heart".

this is actually a good idea of a concept this could also give us a new version of a "trunks vs goku black". the dynamic would be also cool to see for this, it could also show us on how losing people we hold dearest to could change us hence why trunks would be fighting goku, trunks would likely be wanting to kill goku cause he knew goku killed his dad not knowing the horrible acts his dad did and goku he could be also wanting to kill him for trunks reminding goku of vegeta activating goku's trauma on the event

Zamasu could actually relate to the pain Goku has had, and if he played his cards correct, he can really enlist this Goku's help to achieve Zero Mortal Plan instead of stealing his body, since Majin Vegeta pretty much offed the entirety of Z Fighters and there wouldn't be anyone besides the Kid Trunks grown up in the future to hold them

Looks amazing, really like the hxh like transformation, black did first appear like a black smoke/shadow like creature, I honestly wish Dbs used that version of black more, mainly when he had the crazy dimensional rips, with his clones. (If you’re going to have shadow clones why not let them be shadow like creatures)

The ending was pretty sad. Until you realize Goku could just instant transmission to namek and use their dragonballs to bring his family and friends back. Parunga doesn't have that one res per person limit Shenron has, and they were also upgraded to bring back multiple people per wish.

I never thought I’d cry to a goku black origin, holy fuck.. this animation is purely amazing in all aspects, I love how gokus new black transformation made him so powered vegeta stood no chance, and now that everyone else is dead goku seeks vengeance, I can’t get over how beautiful this is, amazing work

Imagine after Goku transformed he got Trunks and Bulma in front of Vegeta and decided to do what Z Broly did to Goku. Goku just starts jumping and torturing Vegeta’s family and he can’t do anything. Trunks ‘tries’ to power up into a Super Saiyan to fight Goku only to be obliterated by a full power Kamehameha to the face, Vegeta starts to come back to his senses but realised he can’t stop Goku after what he just did. Bulma gets absolutely destroyed by Goku and repeatedly punched into the ground and finished off as Vegeta watches in sheer terror.

My own idea was what if the heart virus played a bigger role instead of being random like in an alternate future goku is revived after the heart virus but the virus corrupts his ki in someway turning him more malicious and demented later meeting zamasu being an actual corrupt goku reckoning the heart virus to being significant rather than random

If super went with this kind of emotional backstory then i would of loved when he meets main timeline goku and says a line along the lines of "YOU DONT KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE HAVING EVERYTHING TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU" akin to gohan black from gohanverse.

wow just wow. Call me weak but I cried so hard after seeing this. This is way better than the original story., yet so fitting with the aftermath events. I feel like this is truly what would happen to Goku if he lost his family, unlike what we've seen in the dbs series.
And the animation. 2 years to create a 10min video. It's crazy. I salute the effort put into this. I wish I could be that good.

Wow this is a lot better origin story than the DBZ series gave the story. You made it so he wasn’t just an evil clone of Goku, but a broken Goku from a different universe/ timeline. That part at the end when he puts the earrings on just got me.
