I've heard the term "double canon" to mean something different entirely from a 2 voice canon and mean something more similar to the term "double fugue". When I hear "double canon" I think of 2 simultaneous canons, like 1 melody in canon and a second melody in canon simultaneously, so that it could be as many as 8 parts(2 4 voice canons happening simultaneously).
For whatever reason it looks like I was using the terms from invertible counterpoint (double, triple etc) and never corrected it. Thanks for pointing it out
