It always makes me happy whenever I stop by to visit your garden. Thanks for the heads up regarding Moorpark as apricots are some of my favourite summer fruits, probably as much as figs.
You inspired me to plant an apricot tree, it's 5 months and 3 weeks old in the ground and the leaves have wilted, thatis part of it. I am ready to replace it if it dies. Thank you for always talking about the setbacks and encouraging us on having a fruit garden.
@@RealLifeFruitopia do these Moorpark apricot give fruiting in hot climate regions or not?? ( where temperature sometimes goes to 46 degrees in June and July )
My grandparents had a great moorpark and its also my favourite. I didn't know the variety name until recently so I've planted a divinity already. Tried grafting a daleys moorpark scion onto the divinity this year but it failed! Enjoy your harvest!
Sir minimum temperature in Assam is 11°C and lasts only two months So can I get apricot or peach low chill variety in my region.I have already planted them
Most apricots have a bitter, poisonous pit, with the exception being the Chinese Sweet Pit apricot. There might be other varieties, but I don’t know the names of them.
@@RealLifeFruitopia unfortunately they don’t post to where I am in NSW. The local shop can’t get them either. Will have to wait until next season maybe
In allof the Los Angeles grocery stores including the Asian that i shop for produce at , the apricots are always picked green . They have no scent , taste and are green . We used to have an apricot tree at our old house that was a great producer on the years it had enough cold hours . Thats the key to most stone fruits . The only way to get good apricots is to know someone with a tree . Occasionally our farmers market has them for a couple weeks and are just average
Anyone who loves growing fruit tree but have limited space. Get yourself a Moorpark. He doesn't do a good job explaining the flavor profile. Moorpark is the KING of apricot. Very aromatic, fruity, and sweet. Everybody else can take second place. For now, I'm also keeping Royal, Tilton, Chinese, and Cotton Candy while tossing Summer Delight and Flavor Delight. Both Delights taste like trash. Both Royal and Tilton are on par. - both are commercially grown here in California Chinese is an okay for a large apricot, melley texture., lacks exotic profile. Cotton-n-Candy has surprising pleasant light profile.

My pleasure! Apricot is my favourite stone fruit, I have 3 varieties!

Which fertilizer do you prefer to use on your Apricot trees? Thanks
I feed all my fruit trees organic premium compost and Rooster Booster from Bunnings.
Is this the Moorpark or Wenatchee Moorpark?
Moorpark
I'm in the UK, and do you know if this type of apricot can grow here. Also where can I purchase this type of apricot?
I'm not sure where to buy in the UK. You can definitely grow it there.
Would you say this is as good as an Oullins Green Gage or Victoria plum?
Both are excellent quality.
Do you eat the nut inside of the pit? I was wondering how easy it would be to get out of the moorpark?
No I dont

@lornabaker4039 a poisonous pit that grows a sweet non poisonous fruit, how does that make any sense?
I can’t find anywhere locally that has Moorpark in stock
It's the most common variety, I'm surprised. Try Diacos Nursery in Dingley.

I always get kinda stomachache after eating a bunch of apricots. Do you get the same thing?
No
