What about the J-Series Celerons? I'm wanting to create a dedicated Server Virtualization system on a SBC using the j4105, anything I should worry about?
Right now im sitting on an Celeron J3160 from 2016 (6W TDP, on an Asrock J3160M) with 8GB RAM, Chrome open with ~200 Tabs (alone 30-40 YT-Vids), and watching RUclips-Videos in 1080p without stuttering/buffering. What does this say about your Video? Because of missing Codec-Acceleration (VP9 ect, so im atm limited to 1080p60) im thinking to buy an Mini-PC with Celeron N5095 oder N5105, which can play 4k60 without problems. Since i use the J3160 for surfing and so on (sadly only for the last ~5 weeks, although I've owned it for years [as a hardly used HTPC]), i use my Main-PC (130W CPU+250W GPU, Idle ~100 Watts) only for gaming and crunching - so the Big (and louder) one is most of the time off. Even the very low wattage Celerons are fine for almost everything besides Top-Tier-Gaming and heavy crunching. And thats with only ~20 Watts under full load.
Celerons are not for everyone. But if you are a script writer or someone who works with spreadsheets, you need a celeron laptop. Ultra Low Voltage with no fan. It's so quiet you can focus on your work without the distraction of a screaming fan that sounds like a jumbo jet. Just increase the RAM and invest in an SSD.
Yeah, this is a very good point. Without a good SSD and low RAM, your computer with severely suffer in performance so investing in both are a great idea!
My M1 MacBook Air is also fanless so no fan noise and can last a full day of work, and it performs like 50-95 times faster then the most powerful Celeron... I don't recommend anyone buying a Celeron laptop, and keep in mind that my M1 is far from being the fastest CPU in the world... Windows 11 and even Windows 10 will suck up all the CPU resources because these CPUs are so slow that the OS can suck up all the processing power by itself... A good 4 cores & 8 threads will do the job just fine but Celeron are really underpowered, I had a Celeron laptop back in middle school and it was so bad I had to put Linux on it for it to be somewhat usable... and it was still bad... Note : I know this comment is over 3 years old but still, 3 years ago Celeron were already terrible.
I feel like this is more of a problem with Windows. I'm using Linux Mint on a micro pc that uses a Celeron J4125 and it runs extremely well. Windows 10 is bloated for lower end hardware, I just find that people should blame the software more over Celeron processors, which are good at what they are made for, which is web browing and document editing etc. Plus they are super power efficient.
@Anand Raj Yeah, there are still some limitations because of thermals. Most new Celerons don't even have fans like my Celeron J4125 on my mini pc. Windows just sucks on Celerons, so I don't know what else to suggest other than to get Linux with a DE that uses XFCE, or severely limit background processes at start up, like Steam, Discord, etc.
@Anand Raj Sure, I just can't tolerate Windows. Celerons are also low cost, the Linux distro I'm running makes the processor levitate, I feel like anything more would be excessive tbh.
Windows 7 OS is the best operating system for the celeron, it can run windows 10 but it cant run windows for long periods because the OS may lag and the processor will get very hot.
This video is inaccurate, try comparing a Celeron N3010 vs a J4125, the difference will be more then 500%. There is a big difference between models and the higher end quad core variants can most definitely be usable, even coming to similar performance levels of mid range pentiums and low end i3s. If you do however buy a super cheap laptop for $300 it will however most likely be the former of the 2 and I would highly recommend increasing your budget to $400-500 and get a low end AMD Ryzen 3 or Ryzen 5 laptop instead.
Low Power, Low Cost systems are for exactly that, providing connectivity on a budget. Celeron Dual Core N4020 Notebooks, 11.6" Display, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, Windows 10 = $ 89 @ 6 watts each... Pentium Quad Core Notebooks, 14" Display, 4GB RAM, 128GB eMMC, Windows 11 = $ 129 @ 6 watts each. These systems can run a whole classroom off-grid using solar panels & one portable battery pack, & extension cords. The best part is : Don't Panic if one system gets dropped & broken, $89 and you have a full new PC. Even the lowly Celeron N4020 can wirelessly screen cast 1080p video to a 75" classroom HDTV. They are SO cheap, these notebooks work great just as keyboard/monitor KVM terminals for server rooms.
Is Celeron a "cut-down" version of intel? what's up with that, why is that? Is it a "2nd-hand", junk-down, processor, like the made a mistake and its a "2nd", a "throw-away"? I've wondered about that. Like they made a mistake and want to sell it.

the Celeron processor is mainly intended for people who don't game i own a computer that has a Celeron processor and yes its terrible the feature updates don't install (have to install it from a Flash Drive) but overall it is a terrible processor and intel for some reason has been making these since 1998

Great video man!. Back in 2018, I owned a laptop that had a celeron n4000, and I definitely agree that buying a pentium or a pentium-based laptop is completely way better choice than a celeron.
I hope you'll reply Hi I have a question I bought a laptop with intel celeron n5100 and as you said the videos buffer and the browser is laggy af Should I use chrome OS flex on it? Do you think that will solve the problem or just be the same??
Hi there, So Chrome OS Flex is actually built for low powered machines so will definitely work better than Windows on something like a Celeron. I would definitely recommend trying it - hope this helps :)
Wondering how you predicted cpu landscape two years ahead. LOL. I mean seriously you can get a Celeron N5100 laptop in 2022 for around $150 ~ $ 180 new with touch screen and stylus. Put it in prespective a graphic calulator with mono LCD cost $130. There laptop are fanless, charge with USB - C, etc. It is fantasic value if you use it right.
That's only low end Celerons. I have a J4125, and youtube works 100% at 4k60, and I can use other apps at the same time. I can have 10+ tabs open with no issues, with other programs running in the background. In day to day tasks, I feel no difference compared to my 8 core Ryzen, but my M1 iMac feels more snappy though. You are correct when you say it sucks at gaming though, but usually these Celeron based systems only have integrated graphics.
Bought an Chromebook with the Celeron. It works way better than expected. Watching Videos, doing stuff like word or exel and even editing some pictures.
Yeah, the celeron is optimised for casual computing like word processing and browsing the web so if those are the only tasks you intend on doing, it is perfect!
Almost a decade I had only Celeron processors. Celeron A 433 MHz, Celeron II 633 MHz and a Celeron D 3.06 GHz. Last one was a beast, can ran all my fav games that time.
Nonsense I have a celeron N4125 and a N4505 and they are prefect for encoding 4K movies and it only uses 10watts and runs cool, I don’t know why people hate on the celeron
Hi there, The intel celeron processor is deffinately capable of those sorts of simple tasks but just bare in mind that opening a large quantity of tabs or applications will slow the computer down considerably. But if you are on a tight budget and don't intend on doing anything more than what you said, then it is a great choice. Hope this helps👍🏻
first of all, not all cpu branded the Celeron are the same, there are dualcore and quadcore ones i think, with more modern options or not, active ones and passiv one considering cooling Then, well some work better than their reputation, but you are not supposed to use them for tasks they are not intended for, like gaming or video editing , CAD or stuff also it doesnt help that they often come in very cheap machines, where just everything is bad ( emmc storage, to few RAm, bad display, etc.) but if you had a system with a decent real ssd, at least 8 GB RAm and a good Panel, some will run very well, for office , webbrowsing and watching videos on the go. also most of the time people buying them, dont know what they are doing and just pick something cheap, so they cannot control their system afterwards, leading to not done upgrades, lots of trash applications running in the background etc.
The AMD A4 has higher base frequencies but the intel celeron clocks higher and needs less power so in this case, I would recommend the Celeron. But remember, that doesn't mean it is mega fast. Hope this helps 👍
Could you please help me coz am totally looost 🤦there is a website offering a laptop for almost about a 1000 dollars which is very much .for a 15.6 inch laptop 8g ram 512gb SSd intel celeron j3455 1080p Fhd full layout keyboard. My question does it deserves such amount of money and also why celeron j3455 is used in such an expensive laptop, as it is an intel celeron which isnot so preferred processor ?!
Hi there, in answer to your question: For $1000, that is definately not right as I would expect to get at least a Core I5 for that price range. That processor is not recommended for any more than casual browsing of the web and writing up a word document and is definately not worth paying $1000 for. This could be a typo, but if you are considering buying this, I wouldn't as you can get much better components for that price. If you want me to find you a great laptop for your price range, let me know and I will get back to you asap. I hope this helps!
My Zotac Pico with a 2017 N4100 Gemini Lake Celeron can run todays AAA games streamed over LAN from my PC in another room at 1080p/60fps using Parsec or Steam Remote Play. It adds just 15ms latency encode/decode (i.e. one frame @60fps). It sits hidden behind my TV and doesn't drop keyboard/mouse/controller connections and it runs fanless/silent. It gives the ultimate clean setup for couch gaming so these things have their uses. I will be trying out the N5100 Jasper Lake when I can get hold of one to see how much I can up the frame rate/resolution.

a desktop computer or laptop with a celeron processor was always good for just average computing and playing basic games that don't require high specs, it's was never meant for high end pc gaming, that's for sure
I get that by "the worst processor intel ever made" you mean compared to offerings of the time, but when worded like that, a 4004 would probably win the cake, I mean it can't even run any form of windows, linux or unix (macOS included).

Personally I would look to get one with an intel pentium because unless you have a lot of RAM and an SSD, using a Celeron will lead to a lot of lagging.
Hi there, In my opinion, I would go for the Intel Pentium but only if it is the Pentium 'gold' version. This processor is ideal for causal computing like Web browsing and word processing. Hope this helps👍
I bought myself an Acer Aspire 3 (A315-41) with a Ryzen 3 CPU for college a few months ago, and I have to say, I really dodged a bullet. My friend has the exact same model but with a different processor, and you guessed it, a Celeron. I originally intended to buy the one with Celeron, but seeing the Ryzen 3 model was on sale, and it only cost around 70 bucks more, I decided to go with the Ryzen 3 one. It was the best decision I ever made in my life. While my laptop runs like a breeze and only lags once in a while when Win 10 updates come in (btw fuck you Windows), his laptop can't even run 2 programs at once. He even has struggles just typing a document in Microsoft Word. He eventually sold it back, and got himself another laptop (not a Ryzen, but definitely not a Celeron). In conclusion, *never* buy Celeron. Sure, it'll be more expensive, but trust me, you'll thank yourself later.

I have a laptop with intel celeron.i need it only for daily usages it doesnot has ssd.so i was wandering if upgrading with ssd will make laptop faster for daily usages .what should i do?
Hi there, Upgrading to an SSD will definitely make a difference to speed when booting up and loading applications but won’t improve the maximum load that a celeron processor can handle. But if you aren’t intending to do much more than browsing the web and word processing on it, I would 100% recommend the upgrade.
I don't agree, yes the Celerons are not meant to be fast but they have very low TDP meaning they give great battery life and low heat, they are great for browsing on small chromebooks and netbooks.

For a laptop cdc n4020 vs amd athlon 3050U. Which one is better choice?
Personally, I'd say the Athlon 3050U
AMD is rare, all N series Celerons and Pentiums are simply rebranded Atom processors.
What are you even talking about? Any modern pc that's not a fucking server can complete work while being nearly silent.
@@prevaloir5362 No need to get emotional and use profanities. My comment was relating to laptops which can get noisy when pushed for resources.
Celeron is really bad, even for typing on ms office they tend to stutter for 3 second every 3-5 minutes.
Yeah, the Celeron is awful!
@Anand Raj Okay, but how much more power does the I5 use in comparison?
@Anand Raj Yeah, there are still some limitations because of thermals. Most new Celerons don't even have fans like my Celeron J4125 on my mini pc. Windows just sucks on Celerons, so I don't know what else to suggest other than to get Linux with a DE that uses XFCE, or severely limit background processes at start up, like Steam, Discord, etc.
@Anand Raj Sure, I just can't tolerate Windows. Celerons are also low cost, the Linux distro I'm running makes the processor levitate, I feel like anything more would be excessive tbh.
Is Intel Celeron N4500 good for daily use (simple work)
Yes as long as you don't do many things at once (having loads if applications running at the same time).
@@TechSynthOfficial alright Thanks

Which os is best for celron .... please say becouse celron is very slow on win 10
Windows 7 OS is the best operating system for the celeron, it can run windows 10 but it cant run windows for long periods because the OS may lag and the processor will get very hot.
@@TechSynthOfficial but I am tired to install win 7 in cpu from my usb hdd ..
Question: BUT IS Celeron more Slower Than THE Atom?
Intel celeron with 256 gb ssd ..8 gb ram....will it be good for coding and programing?
It will be ok but you might want to get an i3 because the Celeron may not be capable of running complex lines of code.
What about N4500?

Hi there,
Yes but watching videos in 1080p may cause slight lagging and freezing.
Is Celeron a "cut-down" version of intel? what's up with that, why is that? Is it a "2nd-hand", junk-down, processor, like the made a mistake and its a "2nd", a "throw-away"? I've wondered about that. Like they made a mistake and want to sell it.

Hi I have a question
I bought a laptop with intel celeron n5100 and as you said the videos buffer and the browser is laggy af
Should I use chrome OS flex on it? Do you think that will solve the problem or just be the same??
Hi there,
So Chrome OS Flex is actually built for low powered machines so will definitely work better than Windows on something like a Celeron.
Last one was a beast, can ran all my fav games that time.
sorry but you are not allowed to put celeron and beast in a one sentence
Ugh, not the celeron D! Fuck that thing!

how about intel celeron n4020 with ssd?
It will definitely be quicker but still won't avoid the fact that the celeron can't handle heavy work loads
I want to get an N5105 laptop with a mechanical keyboard, for content (to do LinuxFromScratch on).
Do you think it's really bad for simple task's like browsing (mostly youtube) and word for a student with a tight budget?
Hi there,
The intel celeron processor is deffinately capable of those sorts of simple tasks but just bare in mind that opening a large quantity of tabs or applications will slow the computer down considerably. But if you are on a tight budget and don't intend on doing anything more than what you said, then it is a great choice.

@@jamesmiles3341 adding SSD's significantly speeds up any system. They are insane!
first of all, not all cpu branded the Celeron are the same, there are dualcore and quadcore ones i think, with more modern options or not, active ones and passiv one considering cooling
Then, well some work better than their reputation, but you are not supposed to use them for tasks they are not intended for, like gaming or video editing , CAD or stuff
also it doesnt help that they often come in very cheap machines, where just everything is bad ( emmc storage, to few RAm, bad display, etc.)
but if you had a system with a decent real ssd, at least 8 GB RAm and a good Panel, some will run very well, for office , webbrowsing and watching videos on the go.
also most of the time people buying them, dont know what they are doing and just pick something cheap, so they cannot control their system afterwards, leading to not done upgrades, lots of trash applications running in the background etc.
Which one is better Intel celeron j4005 or AmD apu a4 -9125

Hi there, in answer to your question:
For $1000, that is definately not right as I would expect to get at least a Core I5 for that price range. That processor is not recommended for any more than casual browsing of the web and writing up a word document and is definately not worth paying $1000 for.

Hi there,
Upgrading to an SSD will definitely make a difference to speed when booting up and loading applications but won’t improve the maximum load that a celeron processor can handle.
