very good video and great tips. how would we study questions for the test. I know the test has different questions than what is out there but I'm trying to find a good website or something like that to use, what would you recommend?
@@cheyennekonsdorf6865 thank you for watching. I would recommend taking a practice test that are given from whatever test agency you’re going to use. Typically they offer them and they’re more related to the actual exam.
I'm sorry about that but I got used to it until I succeeded, I failed 3 times before I finally passed, It would have been 4 but Mr. Richard saved me from failing again

Good evening! I have a questions which one goes first for order of draw? Lavender or Pink? And aside from date of birth in out patient what is the most important identification?please help me asap.I really appreciate your time.
@@joicesummers7581 The order of draw between lavender and pink doesn’t matter because they both contain the same additive. Now, if you’re doing a stat draw for one of the tubes then that would proceed the other. For patient ID the most important part is their first and last name spelled out completely. Always have the patient spell their first and last name because people can have the same name and spell it differently. You then go to date of birth and anything else on the requisition or the label will help you.
@PhlebotomySolutions you're amazing thank you so much for answering my question. I'm so thankful because your very accommodating to help me. But one last question promise 😂 Which site is not recommended for capillary for adults? God bless you!
I have a question about question 5 because I've had a tourniquet on for more than 5 minutes before during a blood draw so if the maximum is a minute then what do you do if you have to have it on for more than that? Im going back to training so i can go for the test this time and im just curious about that
Thank you for your question. If the tourniquet is approaching or going over the one minute mark, then you will release the tourniquet and continue the blood draw. If blood flow stops, then you must start from the beginning and look for another site. Most of the time after releasing the tourniquet, you should have continual blood flow into the tubes.
@@ToriaPrather-zt8up Great question. Typically, it’s not allowed because it could cause an increase in your metabolism. It all depends how much coffee was taken in. That is why you need to wait. Technically coffee is breaking the fast but a doctor could allow it.
@@ToriaPrather-zt8up Also, when fasting for blood tests, drinking coffee can be a bit tricky. Black coffee (without cream, sugar, or any additives) is usually allowed for some tests because it’s calorie-free. However, it can still affect certain blood test results, like blood glucose and cholesterol levels, because caffeine can stimulate your metabolism and affect your blood sugar. If the test specifically requires fasting, it’s best to stick to water to ensure the most accurate results. It’s always good to follow the specific instructions given by the healthcare provider or lab conducting the test.
I have questions about what if the parents want you to a draw a blood for thier kiddo even they know thats their kiddos is have a chance on passing out? What should the phlebotomist to do?
@@joicesummers7581 If you have an order to draw blood then you have to draw. Depending on the age of the kid, you can have the parents hold them or you can lay them down with the parents next to them for comfort. Either way, you must draw the blood.
