The yellow looks so much better than the blue imo. On another note, your comment on the build quality is spot on. I've played my friend's pathfinder a few times, and while they do sound good, they are incredibly light and not very sturdy. The tour series is definitely the best value for the money, as it is made from the same shells as their custom kits.
They are solid middle of the road. I have a SJC custom snare and the quality is remarkably higher. But it was also $1400 for just that one drum. I’ve gigged this set for a while now and it’s solid. Tom mount was not great but Gibraltar fixed that problem

I like em, but playing rock I was searching for a warmer sound. They cut through pretty well and mix good with heavy distortion
How did you cut your port?
Bought a kit from sweetwater and then used an exact-o knife to cut it
