"Parallel Hell"....the big tank battles were Russia Vs Germany. c. 1940 , "White Mammoths". A good book..... when the US and USSR were pals. I own an M1 that was used in the Korean War. the now dead guy said they fought mostly with shotguns, it was close up fighting. And he said in the winter they stacked the dead enemies like cord wood for walls.....
M24 Chafee had the 75 mm gun, identical in performance with the M4 Sherman's 75mm gun. It appears the U.S. tank crews that engaged T34s were poorly trained, not learning the lesson from WW2. The gun is more than adequate in penetrating T34 85's sides both turret and hull.
The 75 mm gun could not penetrate the T-34-85 if you were very very close you could shot the turret ring but that’s hard to do and most encounters where at normal ranges the m4E3E8 with the longer 76 mm could you might be mixing them up
As far as penetrating the sides yes but you still have to be write up to the side witch is hard already and I don’t think the T-34s would let that happen also US crews where much higher train than the North Koreans
The first US army units sent to Korea disbanded ignominiously in front of the North Koreans. American soldiers were unmotivated drunks who were afraid of the enemy. Later, when reinforcements arrived, the American air force cowardly bombed civilians in North Korea. Landing US Army troops at Inchon to ambush the retreating enemy was a success turned to failure as Chinese troops forced the Americans to run south like chickens. The only real victory the Americans had was during the massacre of 350,000 unarmed communists in the south of the country. This is a war crime Koreans are unlikely to forget.
@@budgetking2591 The civilians murdered by the US Army in South Korea lived there and were unarmed. Your criterion of Justice is typical of the American war criminals who carried out that massacre because they were defeated.
Fantastic thankyou. They were definitely the forgotten heroes in a frightening war, that I hope never reignites.
Wow, the quality of the tank battles precisely as the veterans described!
4:20 Battle of Osan.
21:05 Great Naktong Offensive.
29:49 Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River.
Thanks for showing the video of this event it's sad how forgotten this war is. I give thanks to all the ALLIES WHO FOUGHT IN IT👍👍💥
Good

I think maybe recently tanks have lost much of their prestige on the battlefield ! 🙊🙉🙈
Thanks to crazy MacArthur
Why the UN army not use the sherman firefly in Korean war
Because we had the comet and the centurion plus Churchill mk7 tank. All lend lease tanks had to be scrapped

You didnt mention 1 important fact, North-Korea started the invasion, they deserved all of it.
