Our Axivane pumps not only did not work on a pressure, they actually worked on a negative pressure. All they did was speed the movement and a 2 ft diff in head most of the time although design was 4 a 4 ft diff. But they always had a vacuum on the top of the pump from the drop in level in the pump above the prop. Kind of hard to explain but we could syphon water if the headwater was high and the tailwater low but as we pumped, the HW would drop and the TW would rise and it still would have a vacuum on the top of the pump chamber. Like right now it is at 2.53' on the HW and 4.46' on the TW with the pump turning 108 RPM. The only place there was any pressure was right directly above the 8' diameter prop moving over 300CFS of water. With the packing loose so we did not burn it up, it pulled air into the pump housing all the time.
Dear sir i have an doubt about vertical multistage pumps. My question is Why the vertical multistage pumps are dont have balancing drum arrangement for axial movement due to differential pressure. Then how the pressure is balanced without balance drum. And instead balancing drum system which methods are used to arrest the axial float in the vertical multistage pumps.
1) aren't axial, radial and mixed flow pumps a subcategory of impellers 2) is the name 'centrifugal pump' is another name for the radial flow impeller instead of all above three being centrifugal pumps?

That was a really good explanation between the differences of those varieties of pumps. Thank you.
Thanks for your interest and ur welcome 👍
Amazing, Just what i needed.

very good
Thanks
Super explain but I need to know very very very keen information in in deep I need to know about it
1) aren't axial, radial and mixed flow pumps a subcategory of impellers
2) is the name 'centrifugal pump' is another name for the radial flow impeller instead of all above three being centrifugal pumps?
