Wheein just makes me so happy. I love Mamamoo, all of the girls are so amazing, i try to catch as much content as they put out, all the time and when they arent putting out new stuff i'm watching other peoples reaction to what i've seen so i can enjoy it through anothers eyes.
I missed them together! I had the same frustration with the subs as well. You mentioned Mamamoo now talking to rookie Mamamoo, Solar just released a Solarsido video of her speaking to her trainee self.

Huh.... So funny. Im fortunate that I can understand korean (but I am Korean American, so English is my main language) but I still leave subs on in case my ears missed anything. so when I first watched this I didn't even notice the subs were so god awful.
I will say though, I did help me since my ears can hear korean faster than my eyes can read it, so it was nice having commentary subbed. But it's still pretty shitty that they didn't even capture the small banter (Mamamoo's main charm) between them for non Korean international fans.
If there's any consolation though, the commentary slightly does align with what they are saying. Or at least hints at what they are saying even if it's only slightly
I appreciate you letting me know that it slightly aligns / conveys with what they were saying. My whole thing is I don’t think there’s a need for them to do it. Mmm have global fans & I just wish the company fully subbed what they were saying. If I had to choose between subs that give context & direct subs I’d pick direct subs 100% of the time

Albeit I always had a hunch that wheein's team was the main pusher for eng subs, and that RBW wouldn't compensate for the extra effort. Hence wheein leaving with her team the first time (just my fan theory lol)

You’re definitely not making too much of it. That subtitle shit made me so annoyed. Like why are prioritizing translating the editor notes on the screen instead of what they’re saying. Sure, I like reading the comments, but not if it means I can’t truly follow the conversation. We missed out on so many of the jokes they made cause of that. I love how RBW handles their extra content, but it doesn’t make up for the lazy subs. You’re not a small company anymore. You can afford to translate your videos.
I get that they’re more popular nationally, but if their content were more accessible then they may actually grow their international fan base more. Cause I’m sure there’s people who won’t follow them because they feel like they can’t really enjoy the content. And the fact that it’s such an easy fix makes it that much more annoying, cause it’s not like it would take much for them to accommodate us. Our girls and us Moomoos deserve better than that.
🎉❤🎉❤🎉 you speak a universal truth and that's why it's most infuriating, because it's almost as if RBW is deliberately sabotaging their accessibility to global fan growth due to not wanting to invest in global activities. The USA tour being 100% promoted by American moo's is the most painfully clear example, because it's showed that RBW will win either way - either the tour would suffer losses due to lack of promotion which would supposedly justify RBW laziness about investing in support for overseas activities while pretending that they don't have enough audience worldwide, or it would be successful, which is what happened entirely thanks to the fandom efforts alone, and RBW would reap profits without any expenses in promotion whatsoever.
Who could not hate any company that exploits both the artist's trust and fandom love and loyalty towards their artists in such an underhanded manner 😂. Just because they haven't oppressed their artists, does it mean that they can stunt their growth and opportunities simply because they're too stingy regarding activities where they're not earning the majority of profit 😂. Is that why they made the tickets insanely expensive 😂.
Sorry for ranting. I seem to have more pent-up rage towards RBW about how they deal with mamamoo related work these days than I realized. I suspect first Wheein and later Hwasa leaving is a condition both caused by, and also exacerbating, their incompetence regarding the group. RBW won't be motivated to invest effort into anything for the girls, especially knowing how the fandom has had to form its own fansub team to serve those who don't know Korean. If a company can get away with being stingy then they will.
