I call that spicy air!! When I was working at chipotle even cleaning off the cutting board with hot water would do the same thing everyone would be coughing. I suggest to start off with cold water to rinse off before switching to hot water to wash! Helps cut out the spicy air!! I have two jalapeño plants growing in my Aerogarden currently. No flowers just yet and I start 8/31 I did prune it down though because I can only raise the light 12 inches so I’m trying for a shorter more bushy plant. Can’t wait to make my own spices!!
Lol, I was just wondering what to do with my, way bigger harvest than I expected, Habaneros, red chilli peppers and Jalapenos. And there you are with your perfect timed vid ;) TY
Wow, lucky you! Make sure to label the containers so you know what is what, and watch out for the hot ones, dehydrate in a well ventilated place.....AND most important.....enjoy for both of us!
An Oster blender can also pulverize dried peppers. It works better if you screw the base onto a mason jar instead of using the original flask, because that keeps everything closer to the blades.
I've done this with Jalapeno's a few times and did some cayanne powder a few days ago. I prefer the jalapeno but most others in my family like the cayanne. Tiki, I am subscribed and the bell is marked and I haven't been notified of your videos for quite some time. I actually was coming by to see if you were ok. Hopefully I will start getting alerts.
I am about to dehydrate my crop from three different peppr plants one is a Scotch Bonnet one is a lesser heat and one is grater. I was going to mix them all together because the two hot ones look similar and I have forgotten which ones are which :-). I have some green left on the plants but thay do not look like the will redden so I was going to keep them for fresh. So this video was at the right time for me particularly as I was planning to dehydrate them overnight (Electricity is much cheaper on Night Rate) but now I wont. I will test it during the day and do it over a couple of days while I am awake. My copy of "The Dehydrator Cookbook" suggested 125F. I am flexible. Thanks very much for your Video. Unfortunately RUclips does not forward to e-mail now and it is more difficult to get to your output. Perhaps you could point out to them that they are losing potential advertising audience and they may change the policy.
can I vacuum seal these and other dehydrated stuff into small packets for cooking in the3e future.... and leave them in thewe cabinet? or should I freeze them? and what might be the safe life span on vacuum sealing?
is your vita mix special dry picture or normal picture? brother has 3 pictures. used liquid pain dehydrated tomatoes out but when used dry picture on habenarow peppers and sweet red bell peppers worked charm easy get powder out.
@@TikkiOOO Dear sister I want to talk you about hydroponic and learn it but I am not so agucated and language problem. Aur aap bahut dur hai. You live long my dear sister. ....
Seeds are not hot, nor do they add any flavor. The membrane surrounding the seeds is the hottest part of the pepper but the seeds carry no heat at all. I know lots of folks swear the seeds are hot but they definitely are not.
Thank you so much video wasn’t long and drawn got to the point with tips
This video was perfect! Answered all my questions. I got quite the bounty here in Texas, just from my 4 plants. Thank you!
I like the way you crush them with BARE hands.
You must have lots of experience with these!

I keep THREE coffee grinders of different colors, marked with a sharpie:: “coffee”, “spices,” “savory herbs,” so there’s no crossover taste
Smart! Thanks for the tip!

Can I dehydrate red pepper flakes and than they will grind to powder in a blender?
Hi,
Are seeds from habanero peppers from grocery stores good for panting?
You can always try sprouting them in camp paper towels to see for yourself.
HI TIKKI. CAN YOU USE DEHYDRATED PEPPERS ON A PIZZA OR DO YOU NEED TO RE HYDRATE THEM BEFORE YOU COOK THE PIZZA. ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO.
either way is good. if doing dry id crumble it up on top of the pizza. even on a plain cheese the flavor is crazy good.
