My favorite purchase of the year was (ironically, my last of 2020) Francesca Bianchi Tyger Tyger ✨🐅 My New Year’s Eve fragrance was Lubin Paris Upper Ten For Her...So sexy, alluring & somehow, comforting 🌹🍫 I truly enjoyed seeing your year-at-a-glance in fragrance. Happy New Year! And thank you for all the new perfumes I have discovered through you channel! I finally got a sample of Marc Antoine Barrois B683, and it was love at first sniff. It reminds me of a country road in the autumn, where smell of the sand and the dust on the road blends with the smell of autumn leaves, a dry astringent smell that makes me feel part relaxed and part awake. So so beautiful.
Scent has been so important to me this year too, in both perfume and candle form. It’s transportive. I received the Cyprès candle from Diptyque for Christmas and it’s bringing the outdoors inside my home, which I’m grateful for right now. Thanks for sharing your passion with us this year!

A lovely video Sam! Heard great things about that OJ. For me, I remember picking up HdP's 1740 when we were just coming out of lockdown and thinking that I had made a mistake 😂 It wasn't until I bought Fidelis and 1899 in the late summer when everyone was bracing for a second go that I came back to it and couldn't believe that it was the same scent. It was literally during a walk in the forest when a breeze hit me from behind and must've bounced off the cliff face that I was skirting. I was like, "w-t-f is that awesome smell?" Wayyy better in the air. Since then, I've developed a new protocol for testing fragrances that I initially judge to be too harsh or animalic. I simply spray my bare torso and immediately throw on a t-shirt when the spots are still wet. That evening I leave the shirt hanging in the bathroom overnight and experience what the bathroom smells like the next morning. Then i throw the shirt back on and wear it for one more day before making any kind of judgement. By that time, my nose usually adapts to the animalics and doesn't consider them offensive ever again. Amazing how well it works.

Isn't it amazing how vetiver does that? I completely understand what you mean. I purchased my first two vetiver-centric fragrances this year (other than my mini Hermes Vetiver & Tonka), which along with helping me focus, have also been very calming. These were 'Everything Will Come Together' by Lola James Harper (how perfect is that name for a vetiver fragrance ;) and 'Le Loden' by Jacques Fath. I also had a massive love affair with tuberose this year and my favourite has been 'Honour' by Amouage because of its balance with tart rhubarb, pepperiness and leather. Beautiful, uplifting video as always my friend xx

I bought a lot of fragrances this year and also discovered a lot of new houses through several samples...but by far the stand out fragrances for me were promise by frederic malle, vespero by jeroboam and montabaco by ormonde jayne. Have you tried any of these fragrances yet? Would be great to know your thoughts on these ....great work as always Sam and we look forward to a more prosperous 2021!

Discovered I like gourmands. I love Lira by Xerjoff, and also Ani by Nishane. I thought I was mostly a green chyphre or floral/citrus fan but now I’m open to the gourmands!

I just wanted to try all the perfume. I went through a big life change so also dealing with some pretty strong sad feelings associated with some of my fragrances that remind me of past times. Visited the website and put vanilla into the search ingine and found Essential Parfums "Divine Vanille" (Did not know you bought this brand in the store). Blind bought it and it is one of my favourite purchases from 2020.
I just wanted to tell you that you piqued my interest when you talked about TF white patchouli. I am somewhat of a minimalist but tested it. I bought it today and absolutely love it. Quite a bohomenian vibe and it suits me at this time of life. I am interested in the Al Jazeera perfume but with shipping right now???

hello again (: Have you tried Rose de Taif by Perris Monte Carlo? Since I hail from Saudi Arabia and I have smelled the real Taif roses, I'm confident to say that this is the most realistic Taif rose scent I've ever smelled by a western house - or even local! However, I personally enjoy Ormonde Jayne's Taif Elixir more as I like to my Taif roses mysterious and subdued. (rose emoji)
Hello Seba, I do know Rose de Taif, it's very nice. I love the extrait. You're right, I adore the mysterious Taif in Taif Elixir. Ormonde Jayne did a wonderful job in this interpretation. A nice thing to do also is to layer the Rose de Taif and Oud Imperial extraits from Perris. A different effect, but quite nice. 🌹Xo Sam

I bought a lot of fragrances this year and also discovered a lot of new houses through several samples...but by far the stand out fragrances for me were promise by frederic malle, vespero by jeroboam and montabaco by ormonde jayne. Have you tried any of these fragrances yet? Would be great to know your thoughts on these ....great work as always Sam and we look forward to a more prosperous 2021!

Discovered I like gourmands. I love Lira by Xerjoff, and also Ani by Nishane. I thought I was mostly a green chyphre or floral/citrus fan but now I’m open to the gourmands!

Nice list many of which piqued my interest! Never the usual with you 🙃 man I bought a lot of perfume this year lol. I only got into fragrance a year and a half ago so I’m hoping I slow down soon! I just wanted to try all the perfume. I went through a big life change so also dealing with some pretty strong sad feelings associated with some of my fragrances that remind me of past times. I am glad you found some escape this year with perfume

I've only tried some of these but moth and b683 were spectacular. Almost purchased moth but couldnt see myself wearing it enough =[. This really peaked my interest in sana jardin though. hny
It is so funny how the univers works. I saw the Instagram story of your berlin trip and found out about the store. Visited the website and put vanilla into the search ingine and found Essential Parfums "Divine Vanille" (Did not know you bought this brand in the store). Blind bought it and it is one of my favourite purchases from 2020.

Have you tried Rose de Taif by Perris Monte Carlo? Since I hail from Saudi Arabia and I have smelled the real Taif roses, I'm confident to say that this is the most realistic Taif rose scent I've ever smelled by a western house - or even local! However, I personally enjoy Ormonde Jayne's Taif Elixir more as I like to my Taif roses mysterious and subdued. (rose emoji)
Hello Seba, I do know Rose de Taif, it's very nice. I love the extrait. You're right, I adore the mysterious Taif in Taif Elixir. Ormonde Jayne did a wonderful job in this interpretation. A nice thing to do also is to layer the Rose de Taif and Oud Imperial extraits from Perris. A different effect, but quite nice. 🌹Xo Sam

I will have more videos on different genres of fragrances, but so far I have 'best of' videos from different luxury fragrance houses.
