My recommendation for indolic scent lovers would be "Chandani Raatein" from an Indian brand Forest Essentials. Notes: Aphrodisiac white florals with a sandalwood base.

Ah such a pity that it didnt work out for you. I really enjoy it. Funny to me I don't get so much of the apple. I think it's the case with the fragrances. It's so subjective. I actually expected this to be only milky/ lactonic but was just positively surprised how it turned out. Hope you will find other fragrances from the lineup that would resonate with you more.
