    Recently, I commented on a video in which you recommended a fragrance that you had once dismissed. I completely accept that people can change their minds and that tastes develop, but it would be nice to know what had brought about the change. For example, "After a few wearings, I grew to like it" or "At this price, it's a steal" or "When I wore it in hot weather, it was a revelation". I think that most people who follow you and watch your videos do so because they respect you and want to hear what you have to say. I know that I'm more likely to try something because you've spoken positively about it and what you said made me interested. If you say something is a sweet, gourmand fragrance, I'm not going to want to try it even though you may love it. I know that there are people who love to pounce on you but I think most people who follow you are looking for a little help in navigating their way through the ever-expanding universe of fragrance. And you give information and opinions in a very entertaining way. Some people bore me to death!

    The last fragrance that did that to me was H24 EDT. First time, I found it to be very "strange" to say the least. Going back to it 1 year later in summer, this has actually become a masterpiece for me. Nothing quite like it (resembles nothing I know). Compliment puller. Classy. The whole package.

    It’s def a journey. I did NOT like Iris when I first picked it up in fragrances, but now Valentino Uomo Intense is one of my favorites ever. Now stuff that was too sweet, I’ve grown to appreciate. Plenty of other examples for me.

      I seriously disliked Ombre Leather when I first smelled it. But I didn’t give up. I’d spray a little bit at home to see if I got used to it. After a long time, I learned to appreciate the fragrance. I think it will still be divisive if I wear it when going out, and it’s a but tricky when that happens after you start enjoying the fragrance.

    I enjoy the fact that since I've started watching you & looked at your old videos in the past you're very forthcoming about how & why your change you mind on a fragrance. You're honest enough sometimes to even say cause of a massive price drop & something being very very being cheap now has changed your opinion. Keep up the great work & the openness to your content 🤙😎🔥

    It’s common for people to slowly start disliking a fragrance they used to love. Our taste changes and we begin to like different things. But when it’s the opposite people go “OH NO NO! You said THIS and now you think THAT!!?”

    Changing our mind about a fragrance is not that rare if you consider many times they change after a couple uses, they evolve with time just like whiskies once the bottle is open.

    I keep coming back to your channel as you are consistent with your Profondo love 😂,
    All joking aside you are up front when you might change an opinion and I think even your older reviews stand up years later, or own up like this video.
    Also, curious if you could do a Issey Fusion Extreme vs JPG Paradise Garden. If anything else features coconut throw that in? Would just be a good comparison of new trendy coconut vs cheap flanker and whatever else you have in your collection with coconut, maybe 1 bad suntan lotion one to avoid.
    Would be a great pre summer vod, maybe a little too early now but I'm so tired of winter I'm ready for summer scent videos

    I found this video very interesting because I was thinking about the same thing (sort of) just very recently. I agree that a fragrance can grow on you over time or you might get bored but a lot of fragrance content creators don’t actually give that extra bit of information when they make a new video with a completely different opinion, more importantly a lot of ‘creators’ seem to have exactly the same opinion around the same time and that makes some of them seem not exactly credible. Example: PDM Althair which both myself and my son have absolutely adored since the first sniff out of the discovery set. Most first time impressions videos I watched though were very iffy about it, they liked it but didn’t 😂 sort of thing, a few months later suddenly all of them are changing their mind and it turns out that Althair has really grown on them and is making its way up to the top numbers - I mean what are the chances of them all feeling exactly the same

    • @DariaLopatynska
      @DariaLopatynska 7 месяцев назад

      Btw my comment is not about this particular creator, I find you very honest and enjoy your content a lot (even though you also changed your mind about Althair but you did see potential in it from the start)

    Great video, Ash! I think it’s just human nature. We are free to change our minds on how we view any aspect of life. Fragrances are no different. I’ve even changed my mind regarding certain fragrances.
    By the way, I totally agree with your take on The Thing. It’s a classic, and one of my favorite Sci fi horror films of all time. I think when it was first released, many didn’t know what to make of it. I saw an interview with Kurt Russell, and he stated that when John Carpenter asked him to play the role of MacReady, Kurt wasn’t sure because he didn’t want to do a monster movie. Carpenter told him “it’s not a monster movie, it’s a movie about paranoia”. I think that’s the mistake people were making originally.

    Hi Ash. It's good that you bring up such topics here, but I think it all depends on the character. When I had Dior Homme OG, in 2013-14. A friend's girlfriend said that this fragrance is feminine because it is sweet. I took 50 ml and tied it up. I didn't know then that the whole male perfume world began to shift towards sweet🍭 and fresh🌱

    You needed am entire 15 minute video to tell people that fragrance reviewers often change their minds because eother their tastes change or the more obvious, in order to stay relevant they need to be on the edge of new fragrance releases and because of that they make snap judgements about fragrances that deserve more consideration. And once they get that consideration, often change the reviewers mind
