i love it! my best friend was a jewish photographer, an artist with shop in vienna and he survived the war only because his parents lied about him and said to the officers and mayor that he is no jewish and only adopted by his jewish parents, so they didn`t pick him up like all the others. from him i have still his plaubel with stativ and the yellow jewish-star that his father had to carry on his dress in the streets. he had the same typical jewish humor, bitter and sweet, i was with him and hold his hand when he died.

Thanks for showing this film about Alfred Eisenstaedt. Interesting and entertaining. Good to get to know the man behind the camera and see him returning to Germany. Also very interesting the story about filming in the Catholic Church on Good Friday. A story that says something about that time.
Mr. Hoffman you never seize to amaze. This documentary was so well done and captivating. You made me want to see a side of the world I've never really given much thought. Which is what I love about your stories and documentaries, you challenge your viewers to think. Thank you sir Shalom

This is truly brilliant Mr. Hoffman. I’m Catholic and really liked the Good Friday segment. It’s beautiful on so many levels. Respectful and insightful at the same time. Eisenstaedt was really an artist as shown by his artful compositions. You are as well. Bravo!
Hi there David. Wow. I never heard of this guy. Wow. What a lovely humble gentle man. Of course I'm not surprised this movie won awards and that you and this man overcame those obstacles. Thank you so much. Again you were able to capture those moments in time that were so precious for all of us today to learn and grow. I feel that 30 years from now people will be talking about the "Great Film Maker David Hoffman" in the same way we are talking about this great man now. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Blessings and Peace David 💖💖🏵😎👍
Gosh, you are so blessed David, this is nearly unbelievable, for you to be in his presence documenting him, and I'm here and able to comment on this to you! Remarkable character he was! And amazing passionate filmmaker you are. You remind me of me. If only I was born before 1986. I need to start releasing my footage. I'm so busy making my film on my great great grandpa I can barely think about anything else.
Wow! If I could describe this historical education in one word it would be brilliant!!! The Opera singer 😍 👍. People in their pure state being natural is the best.

I have watched your videos for a relatively short amount of time. I can not believe your gift and creativity in presenting your story. Thank for quality time viewing and learning about real people. Having a passion for photography, this story makes me smile on so many levels.

I enjoyed this. I'm a big fan of the movies and photography. The opera singer with the reindeer hat was a scream. Mr. Eisenstadt was a cute little guy and full of talent. I'm glad I had the opportunity to have seen this, and I learned a couple of things.
Mr Hoffman, it's amazing to me, the places you've been the people you've interviewed. I haven't heard your explanation for the church film. But how could they not let you film. You are you and you are awesome❤🎉 thank you
We come to reason through the darkness of our souls...it is from duality and juxtaposition that we form epiphanies..eisenstadt was able to see that Germany had healed from the war and grown into an art and theater mecca perhaps in a similar way that he had himself ....eisenstadt mastered the use of shadows - if you look closely you can still see the horror of WWII embedded in his work...it must have been inspiring to know that life goes on imitating art ..imitating life imitating art imitating life imitating art with no end 🎥🎬
I love the story of how they allowed the church shoot. In America, it's common for the descendants of an oppressive entity- often themselves, beneficiaries of its practices- to take the position that they personally did not participate in the oppression, that it was before they were even born, and therefore they hold no responsibility whatsoever to attempt to right the wrongs or mitigate the injustices that in their eyes, have nothing to do with them

I love walls. We have two options. We have walls that seperate us or we love one another. And since the 2nd option will never happen, walls may be our only option.
