Thank you for giving Xikers a listen. Definitely recommend checking out their debut album House of Tricky Doorbell ringing. Oh and side note: Hongjoong contributed to the writing and production of their debut album.
If Ateez are pirates, Xikers are goblins or dokkaebi in korean folkfore. Dokkaebi like to possessed humans, they like to trick humans but sometimes like to help them. Xikers albums called "House of Tricky" (can be meaning as house of goblins). You feel like the album have "halloween" vibe because it is their concept (horror, mythology or what ever it is) since the beginning of their debut. I recommend you to check out their debut album (House of Tricky : Doorbell Ringing), they have 2 MVs for this album (Tricky House and Rockstar). And if you confused why there are 10 members in the first album but 9 in the new album, it's because one of them is in hiatus right now. Anyways, thankyou for checking out Xikers ❣️
Thank u so much for reacting to the WITCH MV and checking out the album!!! Xikers are easily one of my top groups in general and DEF my fav from the 5th generation. It would be awesome if u could react to their other albums. And I totally agree - xikers is best described as "it makes sense they are ATEEZ younger brother group but totally different and definitely the same". I`m sure in every album u will find always at least 2 songs that u will find good. I would recommend to check their first album and go from there.
You have to react to all their albums! With every comeback you’ll be able to see how their sound gets more developed and more Xikers. All their albums are so good and each has their own concept Albums: HOUSE OF TRICKY: Doorbell ringing - a more experimental album/trap sound HOUSE OF TRICKY: HOW TO PLAY - A more vocal-heavy album/summer album HOUSE OF TRICKY: Trial and error - a more hip hop focused album/grungy style HOISE OF TRICKY: WATCH OUT - Well, you already know, it’s like a mix between trial and error & how to play They also have a song called Tsuki which is their Japanese debut. It’s one of my personal favorites from them atm
I'm only partway through, but for Bittersweet, I think the more typical part is brilliant because it can draw in people who normally shy away from music that isn't mainstream. The theme of Witch, and Tricky House in general, is being drawn in, trapped before you know it. I think the switch ups from typical, to a bit different, to totally different fit their concept well. And as someone who wants to see them get more attention, I think it's import to have songs that can be a bridge into their style of music (Homeboy does this a bit too, but not to the same extent). Yes, their rapline is fire. Their vocalists are still developing, but they are really stable live while dancing. Oddly, one of my favorite vocalists from xikers is Minjae, the rapper you pointed out. For their debut promotions, they did Hi Stranger where they sang for strangers on Omegle. It was the first time I heard Minjae sing. He sang again for their recent BTS covers of Fake Love and Butter. I like his voice.
Bittersweet actually has a full music video!
SIIIII
9:38 Thats Yechan. I don't know all their names, but he stood out from the beginning. His tone, flow, dancing and energy.
so exited for your xikers journey!
