Yay!! I’m glad you decided to check this out! Honestly if you dive into GFriend, I think you’ll find that their music is so beautiful and unique, unlike anything else in the current kpop landscape. Yuju is the main vocalist and has a gorgeous voice- one of the best in 3rd gen. But you might have noticed it wasn’t in the best condition in the video. This is because her voice was waaaay overused for high notes by the company early on, and it caused a lot of permanent damage on her vocal cords. Eunha (who is a lead vocalist) ended up taking on a lot of the big high notes. But I think if you go back and watch the MVs with the full complete instrumentals you’ll love the songs even more- you know how you mentioned that their songs had instrumental portions that seemed meant for killing voice? That’s how all their music is! Gorgeous, full instrumentals. Sometimes classical, sometimes electric guitars. Just stunning. Anyways one of my favourite title tracks by them is a song called Sunrise… it was left out of the killing voice (likely because the vocals in it are SO crazy and challenging) but I highly recommend checking it out! To all. GFriend and VIVIZ vocal line distribution has a very very different. In GFRIEND all or most of the high notes are given to Yuju and Eunha, while the rest will do the melody and the harmonies. I'm not saying the others can't do the high notes but that's what their prev. company treat them vocalization wise. While in VIVIZ it is very much well equally divided but of course Eunha is getting the main vocalist part since she have the agility to do it when it comes to range. But all 6 girls has very beautiful voice and CAN do high notes if train wisely before. So I won't be surprise if newer listeners will be captivated by Yuju and Eunha's vocals since they they were given this task. Which is great btw cause they're capable with it.
