*FYI I’m still on hiatus from RUclips due to a stress-related health diagnosis, but wanted to give a quick update and thank you all for your support. I appreciate you all and hope you have a wonderful holiday season! 🦃🎄❄🎉*
Thanks for the update! Even though they're related to your job, I hope your fish can be a source of peace for you. Take care of yourself and family first. We'll be happy to see videos whenever they come.
You’re so lovely Irene and wish you a speedy restoration back to great health. Focus on you and your family first to relax and be happy. Hugs from England 🇬🇧🌷🌷
Nice to see you again Irene. Thank you for everything you do for the aquarium community. We appreciate you and I hope nothing but the best for you. Sending you positive energy.
Irene - you can use a timer with the Fluval Flex tanks - I use one and have for over a year. Just hook everything up, set the timer to on, turn on the aquarium lights with the remote, then set the timer to time mode. When it turns on the tank remembers it was last on so the light comes on. This works with my Fluval 15 and Spec 5 (they're on the same powerstrip connected ot the same timer, actually)
@@GirlTalksFish this also works on my Imagitarium 6.8 gal that Petco sells - just tap the touch sensitive button on the light, then switch timer over to timer mode from outlet mode and voila!
I am so glad to hear that you are doing what it takes to heal. So, I am sending love and support your way. I'll be praying for you. May God bless you and strengthen you.
Thanks for sharing both your tanks and a part of your life with us. I and no doubt many others are sending thoughts and energy to help heal you to your regular happy self. Take care!
We Love You! Please take ur time 😻😻 This is exactly what I've been going through these past few months... I have several tanks already and I had FINALLY set up my 55 gallon tank for my golden dojos. Then l Got Incredibly sick and diagnosed with Crohn disease like a month later... So taking care of all My tanks got put on the back-Burner..😑 Everything is great now! but the past month was pretty shaky I ended up loosing several shrimp but Slowly recovering 😌
Take care of yourself. I too have stress related anxiety issues, so I understand how important it is to sometimes take time to take care of your own mental health. Last year I wound up with chronically high blood pressure from lack of mental and physical care. I know I have it under control and so I am. Wishing you much success and relaxation.
I was having pressure problems, I found Allister Begg, Truth for Life, he's a pastor out of Cleveland - my faith is a rock these days. Also, listening to Charles Spurgeon- all on the you tube Be well, God never abandons His children Peace and Grace to you and yours ❤
The embers will color up. Mine are all fiery orange now. They are also from Petco and they all started pale orange as well. I also got anther school from a local fish store but they all died within 48 hours of getting in my quarantine tank so it seems like the Petco ones are quite robust. I even saw a little tiny ember join the school recently so they must be breeding even though I'm not trying to breed them. I have had no casualties since I got them from petco in the fall of last year so a little over a year now.
Oh hun keep staying strong and positive. Health issues alone can be strenuous, but when it's something that causes very justified stress or fear of the unknown it's not easy. The woman in recovery side of me wants to remind you to take it one day at a time. Focus on the now and be as present as your body and mind will let you. Having your relationship with prayer certainly doesn't hurt. Thank you for making this video for all of us. I find myself constantly referencing your channel in some of the beginner fb groups because I've learned so much from you, and the co op crew. ❤ Lots of love your way, and have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family.
I'm encouraged to hear of your faith in God and I will be praying for you.If you Google the term Giant Little Books,it will bring you to some Christian literature ,from my church, that you can read online for free.Theres much help available to help you have peace and contentment.❤
Thanks for the update. Most importantly take care of your health. Your tanks don’t actually look like they have been that neglected. Really love the brackish tank.
I just got my first pond tanks, bettas and guppies... started watching your videos, then came across this one. I just wanted to send you well wishes and prayers for your health and happiness. Please take care.
I am all too familiar with stress related health issues, I am so sorry to hear that you are also experiencing this. Sending love and support your way 💕
Ember Tetras respond really well to a darker substrate - black if you can, and heavy plant mass... their colour darkens a lot. They are real jewels if you give them that style of home 🙂
I found out how to put my Fluval Flex 15 on a timer! Basically you have to set white as a custom color by turning on the white light, only the white. Use the "Reduce White button (W -)" click it once. Click any other color button once. I use blue. Now its set as a custom color. When you do this the "custom color" becomes the default light. After this I haven't touched the controller, haha.
I love how your ember tetras school. I got them for that reason but it turns out they all hate each other and stay spread out in my 20 gallon long. They do group together for feeding or when I do tank maintenance. But then they all spread out again
Definitely take care of yourself, that's the most important thing. I pray for God's blessing and intervention in every area of your life and your whole family too.
Hope you're doing better soon, Irene. You have to take care of yourself before much of anything else. Thanks for the update and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I wonder if those clown killifish have been breeding in a heated tank. I keep mine unheated and they seem to spawn but I've only seen a few fry in nearly a year. Hope your stress levels come down, Irene! Happy Thanksgiving!
I use an outlet plug in timer with my Fluval Flex 15 gallon and my Fluval Spec 2.6 gallon...so it does work and it is possible. Long-term stress is one of the worst things for us so do everything you can to take care of you.
About Anubias and how weirdly resilient they are … I left a 5 g tank for more than a month without any fish in, without turning on the tank lights even once, with loads of Ich x in the water which is supposed to be harmful to plants?! And anubias have lived !!
Hope you are able to find peace amongst the stress. You may also want to look into a book called “The Cost of Control: Why We Crave It, the Anxiety It Gives Us, and the Real Power God Promises”
May God's grace be with you and your family and keep you safe in his arms and heal the part of you that needs His healing touch. May you have a Blessed and HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
I think your “neglected” tanks still look AMAZING! Thank you for giving all your fans an update. Take care of yourself. You have an awful lot of people rooting for you! Sending healing prayers from West Virginia. 🙂
nice to hear your laugh, and see your smile. Hope you're feeling better. I use / enjoy my tanks as a theraputic by plopping a chair in front of the tank with turkey baster, long tweezers a 4 cup measuring cup and paper towels. I'll clean, water test, baste ( pluck - tiny ones ) snails, do the glass, top off water, general maintenance etc. and it's relaxing. Not everyone has that kind of time or even household ( kids, spouse and pets ) but if you can manage it sitting is 'WAY' more enjoyable for me and my hobby. In your tank that has abundance of algae, switch some of your Java ferns ( slow growers ) to fast growing plants to compete for nutrients. Love Embers too, mine are shy and the same color. Feel better, I feel better when I use my hands, lol THANKS
I'm so sorry you are going through it. Praying for you and it was nice to see your video. Always enjoy your videos and you have helped me on so many ways with fish and aquarium education. Thank YOU. Sending positive and healing to you. 🙏🏽♥️
Hope you’re doing ok. Me & my kids watch your videos quite frequently. Always very informative & easy to understand. Your personality is what makes your videos always easy to come back to. Take care 🙏
Hi Irene! I’m a new subscriber. I’ve learned soooo much from your videos. Just want to say thank you. I hope you get to feeling better and that you will stay in the hobby to help newbies like myself. Hang in there and know you are loved and thought of. Can’t wait to see your next video. BIG FAN HERE! Sending big hugs and lots of well wishes. ❤
Just found your page! I hope you're doing well and are on the up and up! thanks for sharing all your tips and insights - we've just brought home 3 African Dwarf Frogs and a Mystery snail ( we may add a nitrite snail)
Hello! I'd like to know how many Corydoras Paleatus I should place in a 30-gallon tank to avoid overstocking. The tank is only for them, no other fish. A minimum and a maximum? All answers are welcome, but please respond only if you have knowledge of this fish and experience. Thank you!
MyAnubias are beggining to get covered with algae. Have a 5 gal with only 1 beta and 2 diff snails ( they may be too small). I probably need two bottom dwellers. Any suggestions? Btw...Happy Thanksgiving and take care of your health.
Thanks for making this. Im a new tank owning person who also struggles with mental illness. Im really worried what will happen if i lapse for a few days.
Hi Irene, I hope that you can help. I believe that I saw a video of yours in which you mentioned that Harlequin Rasboras can be kept in cooler water. Was that successful for you? Thanks. By the way I subconsciously liked how you look in the video, but it didn't realise until you mentioned it that you weren't wearing makeup. You certainly don't need it. You are one of the most grounded and sensible fish keepers on RUclips and I really hope that you are feeling better soon. All the best from bonnie Scotland. 👍
*FYI I’m still on hiatus from RUclips due to a stress-related health diagnosis, but wanted to give a quick update and thank you all for your support. I appreciate you all and hope you have a wonderful holiday season! 🦃🎄❄🎉*

Special prayers for God's strength. p.s. I bought those super long rubber gloves (I hate putting my arms in fish water :-).

Hi Irene. I hope you get well soon!
Can I ask where you got the 6 inch razor blade for scraping algae? I don’t mind getting my hands wet. Thanks!
Hi Maybe getting more hands on with you tanks will help your stress levels. Its just making the initial effort. Remember tomorrow never comes
