It's so sad that he did that just to come to the wrong conclusion. No one is asking for a million more October 7th videos. But when you talk about anti Palestinian rhetoric at home, when by the numbers there is a higher increase in anti semitism, that shows your bias. When you don't have on a single guest who isn't leaning neutral like Jacko or totally pro Hamas, that shows bias. When you make a whole video about BB calling this conflict a holy war, but don't talk about the Hamas charter or the fact that Islam calls for Sharia law when Muslims are the majority in the country which is anti progressive in every way, that shows your bias. It's bad when it's so obvious to someone on the outside, but they are both oblivious to it. They can't possibly believe they are being fair and impartial while Krystal says there's no both sidesing genocide. So now both sides believe it's a genocide? That's not true because I'm actually watching both sides. It's clear there's one side here. The big issue is lying about it.

    • @alveolate
      @alveolate 7 месяцев назад

it's also extremely important. a lot of normie libs / vote blue no matter who gang think they're morally superior just by opposing trump; but they have absolute blinders on when it comes to biden (or any "centrist" democrat) doing the absolute worst things.
i hate trump as much as any other non-american, but there's a reason the republicans can even elect such an insane demagogue in the first place: it's the ratchet effect enabled by "moderate" democrats.
if normie libs can't self-critique, then they're as much a part of the problem as the fascists they criticise.

Yeah except it’s wrong. If trump were in office the major media would still be pro Israel because they own them as well as the politicians. Our politicians and major media have severely discredited themselves by unequivocally supporting a genocide.

Except there is when one side's (Hamas) entire identity and government is dedicated to the elimination of the other side (Israel), the one side (Hamas) has attacked over, and over, and over again and refused all reasonable cessation of violence agreements in the past including self-governance and statehood agreements if they would just stop constantly attacking. And the side who is supposedly being "genocided" started things off with one of the most hideous displays of mans inhumanity towards man in modern times but didn't have the tech, numbers, or power to stay in the fight for more than a few hours of civilian slaughtering before crawling back in their hidey-holes and pretending to be innocent Gazan citizens until the next opportunity to attack arises. Krystal and Chompers are just wrong on this one. The Palestinians have had numerous opportunities to just let it go and begin to set their own destiny. Tge rest of the world has all been willing to help them if it means peace but at every single turn they have chosen violence. How long exactly do you expect Israel to put up with the daily rocket attacks and occasional suicide bombers? Would you live that way? It has to stop. It just has to stop and I really don't care how at this point.

If you want to know why BP viewers might be frustrated over the coverage of the Israeli-Hamas war, here’s some quick math. I just scrolled back through the past two weeks of BP RUclips posts on the conflict and there were zero with a guest or report speaking from an Israeli perspective, there were 4 posts totaling 51 minutes that were more general reporting, and then there were 15 posts totaling 400 minutes, or 6 hours and 40 minutes, that were blatant pro Palestine guests or reports that painted Israel negatively. I honestly don’t mind getting content from both perspectives because there are two sides to every war, but this has been nearly completely one-sided as of late. And I don’t care to hear outright Israeli propaganda anymore than I want to hear Hamas propaganda, but at least have someone on to give a perspective. For example, several times in BP reports the percentage of Israeli people who favor IDF actions or even feel they haven’t done enough was thrown out by Krystal and suggested as a clear example of how Israelis are just evil and genocidal. Well, have someone on to explain why the Israeli population feels that way, such as the years of Palestinian suicide bombers or tens of thousands of rocket and mortar attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip since 2001, or the 9,500 rocket, mortar or drone attacks on Israel from Gaza just in a little over a month after Oct. 7. Those don’t get covered because thankfully for Israel’s sake they are often rather primitive and ineffective, but they happen, they show a clear intent and desire to kill Israelis, any Israelis since these by no stretch are guided munitions, and that has to wear on the Israeli people. I think the Israelis know if the military capabilities in the region were reversed, they would all be dead, so they aren’t opposed to any actions that prevent that from happening. Perspective, that’s all. Share more about why Israel feels justified in doing what they’re doing, and then let viewers agree or not, instead of just guest after guest and report after report about how Israel is bad.

    • @mjcole82
      @mjcole82 8 месяцев назад +11

Your response is well thought out and articulate. Thank you for taking the time. Israel is having an understandably emotional reaction to an atrocity. However, I feel it is ultimately failing to accomplish any of their actual goals other than the need for revenge and this comes at the expense of tens of thousands of innocents, which is repugnant and makes clear the Israelis see Palestinian civilians as second class citizens not worthy of being allowed to live simply for having the bad luck of living in Gaza at this point in time. When you have scores of israeli officials making their goal clear and the bombs killing dozens of innocents daily, forgive me, but I don't give a shit what their justification for evil is...its still evil regardless whether it has an understandable emotional motivation.

As someone who has also been slightly turned off by Breaking Points coverage of this conflict, I can tell you that a lack of constant sympathy for the victims of 10/6 is not what the issue here is. Personally my biggest issue with all of these harsh Israel critics is, what's your purposed alternative solution? You seem to be very keen on being critical of Israel's response to October 6th, but like virtually all critics, you offer no potential solution. In Krystal and Saagar's opinion, what is the correct way forward for dealing with Palestine and Hamas? And sorry, I don't want to hear "I'm not a general and I don't know anything about war." You know enough to be strong critics, so propose something of substance, or ATLEAST admit the fact that you have NO CLUE how to solve this issue, JUST LIKE THE REST OF US.

But it is easy to see what is wrong with Israels response unless you are predisposed to a certain view .

Solutions ? Would be resolving the problem by offering fair solutions , not creating another 2 generations who will hate Israel and be willing to die for revenge for what is going on right now .

Krystal cannot admit that the goal of the Israeli advance in Gaza is to prevent Hamas from threatening Israel’s citizens, because to do so means Krystal would have to admit that she has been fundamentally wrong about the nature of the conflict, that Israel has been engaged in a defensive war from the beginning. Kudos for doubling down on your stance. But for me, it was a disappointing response. I understand being critical of one side can be deemed "pro-Israel/Hamas". My criticism of Breaking Points is how the news is being reported. Yes, all air attacks are done from Israel -- at this point -- but that is only one side of the war. They mentioned that they have not had any Palestinian people on their show and that, in fact, it is not fair to the Palestinians. I would encourage them to bring on more Palestinians to speak up. Ask the average Palestinian how they feel towards Hamas. Do they support Hamas? What are their feelings towards Jews? What have the Israelis done to harm them and their families? Don't give any guest (Israeli or Palestine) softball questions.
The reason why you had to respond to subscribers -- and make it the headline -- is because Krystal has hijacked the show to spew Palestinian propaganda. Do you think we are that dumb? "We are just reporting the war. And unfortunately, the war at this point is going to paint Israel negatively". But why are we not looking into why the majority of Palestinians SUPPORT Hamas and that Hamas's mission is to kill all Jews (it's in their constitution)?
I don't want "pro" anything I want the facts. The Palestinians are in an "open-air prison" because of their own actions (suicide bombings weekly in the 90s and 00s). Israel has been committing war crimes with a corrupt government. Tell us the whole story....not just Krystal's perspective.
Just so you know, I know Saagar thinks a lot of this is BS. I wish he would speak up and correct Krystal more often. I stopped watching about a month ago. I loved Breaking Points. I thought it was a show where two brilliant people came on to give us an honest take on the news. But Krystal has completely lost the plot with this story. You can tell her emotions have taken over at this point.

Haven't been impressed, and from the videos I've seen you are frequently searching for criticisms to the Israel narrative and then discounting it wholesale, and then buying the Hamas narrative with benefit of the doubt (not that I'm suggesting you shouldn't scrutinize either, but from what I've seen it's all scrutiny one way and all belief the other). Lots of folks yammer on about how he supposedly is silencing the Palestinian voices, but I think Piers Morgan has clearly been doing the best job of any media figure covering this. It's far more helpful to hear a diversity of voices hashing it out across many interviews than to just hear 2 people spout their own perspective over and over- that's hardly journalism. Piers clearly has his own perspective, but he at least is letting other perspectives be heard, rather than merely asserting his own editorialized stories all day long.

Also, her repeating and agreeing with Finkelstein, “You can’t steel man a genocide,” is just intellectually dishonest. The definition of genocide is, “the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.” The fact she and so called intellectuals like Norman Finkelstein will call Israel genocidal but not even say something as simple that Hamas is a terrorist organization shows the level of dishonestly in everything that comes out of her mouth.

Examples being Al Shefa hospital, the journalist a couple years back that was shot by a sniper and IDf blamed ha mas, the snipe and killing of any protesters then calling them ha mas.
In contrast the gazan ministry of health may technically be run by the Hamas government, but it has historically been very accurate in deaths from past conflicts. This accuracy is seen when compared to Official UN figures after the fact.

I appreciate this segment as I have been the most critical on the coverage of the war in Israel appearing to be bias toward Gaza. And the response to the criticism was a good one. The best source of news to date and has helped me looked at Israel with more critical eyes.

Couldn't disagree more. The response was terrible. Krystal is insane and empty-headed as usual, and Saagar continues to deflect and cower:
Point 1# "Our government is funding Israel." While true, American tax dollars, in the form of aid, fund HAMAS. HAMAS took money and resources that were for the Palestinian people and converted those resources into weapons and tunnel systems at the US taxpayer's expense. The Palestinian government, HAMAS, used those resources to commit an act of military aggression on Oct 7th. Yet, Krystal is silent.
Point #2 You can't steelman Israel's position. That is insane. You could at least try. As an opinion journalist you should be able to generate....opinions. It would be easy to say something like," The Islamist-political organization HAMAS coordinated military operations with the budding Iranian nuclear power that has vowed to exterminate all Jewish people and the West for decades. The military operation conducted by HAMAS on Oct 7th indicates their commitment to the promise of extermination, so Israel felt obligated to defend itself from future annihilation, right or wrong." She didn't even try to answer the question. Why do you think that is?
Point #3: Krystal equivocates the killings on Oct 7th to the Gazans who are fleeing. The only reason Israel is fighting in heavily populated areas is because HAMAS built its military infrastructure into civilian areas!!! 2.2 million Gazans are fleeing because HAMAS used them as human shields. Also, Oct 7th was a military operation that intentionally targeted innocent civilians for murder or abduction. This has all been admitted on VIDEO!!!! Sheesh...she is a dope.
Seeing comments like yours, like you found something useful in the punditry, is heartbreaking.
If I have missed something or my logic is clouded, please clear things up for me.

@@totallyshamanistic Although I disagree with you on many of your points regarding Israel, I completely agree with you that their response to a good faith question from a subscriber was pretty awful. One of the reasons I stopped subscribing to this show was it started becoming just predictable hot takes from both of them, and their response here sounded like: "Don't like my hot take? Leave then." It's been pretty difficult to get a perspective that doesn't feel completely one-sided (and by the way, one-sided doesn't necessarily mean "wrong"), but the closest I've found is Ezra Klein's show, surprisingly.

@@totallyshamanisticFew basics. Hamas got funding with the blessing of Israel. Either way, who funded Hamas doesn't justify Israel's indiscriminate bombing, targeting of civilian infrastructure and prevention of humanitarian aid.
Whether Iran has nuclear weapons or funds Hamas doesn't justify Israel's crimes.
I can add a few more AIPAC talking points. The Arabic neighbours won't take Palestinians. Hamas leadership are billionaires. Hamas uses human shields. Hamas uses civilian infrastructure for their bases. Israel can't lift the blockade because they would be attacked. Palestinians want to genocide Israel. Blah blah blah.
None of it matters. Israel is currently commiting hideous war crimes that are killing thousands and soon to be tens of thousands of kids. Sorry, Israel is being evil at the moment.

@@totallyshamanistic If you think Deep State US and Israel have no clue about where the money is going then you still have no idea what is going on. And if you still think, after many prior warnings given to Netanyahu that the attacks just happened by themselves you need to do some historical research including all the events leading up to the Oct 7th Hamas attacks. These two quotes will give you a big hint. “We need to tell the truth,” Israeli major general Gershon Hacohen, an associate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said in a 2019 TV interview. “Netanyahu’s strategy is to prevent the option of two states, so he is turning Hamas into his closest partner. Openly Hamas is an enemy. Covertly, it’s an ally.” Former elite Dutch banker Ronald Bernard who worked with Governments, Intelligence Agencies and Terrorist organizations, "They are actually all friends on the same side. Everybody thinks there are opposites like good and bad guys in the world, but on the higher levels it is just a game and they are all working together. There are about 8,000-8,500 people who run the entire world. You also have governments to deal with, multinationals, you have to deal with secret services, and what they now call terrorist organizations. You get all of those groups that are involved with the big money as clients, then you start seeing the connections. So they might be compartmentalized regarding knowledge, but because I am in the middle I see how they relate to another; you see the money coming from this place, then going to that place, etc. You keep gaining information and thereby overview of what is really going on."

Krystal keeps saying the reason why she's so critical of Israel and not Palestine is that our tax dollars fund Israel. But the UN funds Palestine, and the US is the biggest donor to the UN. So we're funding both. And clearly, Israel does a much better job spending the money we give them on defending and bettering the lives of its citizens, so that's money much better spent. So if we're giving money to both, it's just a question of who someone WANTS to hold accountable.
It's clear that when Krystal actually talks to someone who can deal in specific facts (like RFK) Krystal has no good solution, and 90% of her brain power on this issue is just generating excuses for why she spends so much time criticizing Israel and 0 time actually looking at how to actually deal with Hamas.
Sagaar's point that they covered Oct 7, and most of the action now is Israeli is well taken... but the way Israel's actions is framed in your coverage is biased. For example, Krystal says what Israel is doing is a genocide. Actually, quite literally, it's not. Genocide is "the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group." Palestinian is neither an ethic group (the ethnicity is Arabs, and Arabs can and do live peacefully in) nor a nation (because their government, Hamas has turned down the 2 state solution in favor of a charter that includes exterminating Jews... which actually would be genocide). What is occurring is an on-going military occupation. So this is not just "coverage"; this is constant editorializing and opining that is the problem. The solution is not covering Israel less, or being more favorable, it's just not doing what every airheaded MSNBC or Fox News anchor does and spend more time in BS takes than actual coverage of the facts.
Furthermore, all the criticism of Israel is rather meaningless without one key component you're missing: and actual end goal. I disagree strongly with Israel's approach, and probably would lean into a much more radically "leftist" solution than Krystal. I would agree with Krystal that Israel's current approach is likely to produce more terrorists. However, the striking difference between our positions is that I actually spend time thinking about what would actually deal with Hamas. Krystal doesn't think about this for a moment. She levies criticism after moral condemnation of Israel... but to each criticism, you can ask: "Will this stop Hamas?" and she has no answer for it. Without an answer, all Krystal's criticisms boil down to a belief that Israel should just put up with Hamas killing Israeli citizens and try not to provoke them.
I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she's not doing this because she intentionally hates Jews. This reminds me VERY much of the behavior of teachers at my elementary school. People like Krystal form double standards, taking out their frustrations on how they feel they can control ("we give them money, so they should do what we say"), avoiding the real problem ("let's ignore that we also give Palestine lots of money, because we can't control Hamas"), and then complaining to the world at large about how awful it is that it keeps happening.
Here's how it played out in my elementary school. The teachers would lecture the entire class on how we were the worst grade they'd ever had, there's so much bullying, etc. However, when a bully was picking on a kid and the kid reacted *in any way emotionally,* the teacher would send the kid they were picking on to the office. I don't know what the calculus was in the teachers head. Probably something like "Well the bully's a lost cause / I'm used to the bully acting out... but I'm ALARMED that this well-behaved kid is making a fuss. That's not normal, I need to straighten them out immediately." The message received by the bullies, however was, "Do whatever you like," and by the rest of us was "Teachers don't give a sh*t about you."
I really don't care what Krystal has to say about Israel until she can spend one minute talking intelligently about how to handle Hamas. Sure, cover what Israel does, but if your solution is that Israel should just accept that Palestine is going to bake some Israeli babies every so often... I really don't care what your moral feeling on the subject is. You don't have a solution, shut up and stop opining as if you do.

To be fair, about that first point, since October 7th the reporting does give the impression of a single-sided conflict, where there is only one military force engaged in action, namely the IDF. I haven't seen it mentioned a lot that Hamas has been firing rockets at Israel for the past 2 months as well. Of course there's no comparison with what Israel is doing to Gaza, but at least I did have the impression for some time that Hamas had done oct. 7th and since then it was only Israel wreaking havoc on Gaza, which is not entirely accurate either.

I just want to get this straight.. are you comparing one of the world’s top militaries armed by a super power unleashing thousands of tons of bombs including white phosphorous with a group of 20 year olds living under siege for the past 20 years and all their lives under occupation.. who throw a few man made “missiles”?

Yeah the reason you don’t hear about it is because well… there’s a genocide going on and Israel is the overwhelming aggressor… there is no equivalency whatsoever… not in their military might nor consequently in their actions.

Hamas is fighting an occupying force. Israel is doing the occupying. Rockets will not have the same significance in those contexts.
