Arguably the best 2 Exploration stations on You tube Sub Exploration and IKS EXPLORATION
I've always been fascinated by underground stuff. This was a great find.
My 3 fave exploration teams all in one deep hole in the woods!
👍
I'm on the round side. I think its been a decade since i could fit in a 50 gallon drum. Thank for taking the time to bring us this content
Love the mines and the collaboration with IKS. My 2 favourite Channels together. Kudos!!!
I love it as I grew up partially in Kent and love to see my old haunts, enjoying memories of me on me Raleigh Chopper exploring the old mines and forts etc, happier days
Awesome explore, I need to get out this weekend adter seeing this. Spot on lol
Great video Simon. I loved the bit with the olight charging dock. 🤣🤣 Good to see everyone together on the explor. 👍
Well you know me, i do like to have a laugh 😉
Great vid great explore and great people keep it up guys much love and respect for what you do for us all guys
Cheers Tom!
Nice video keep going🔥🔥🔥
wow u guys all got a set , awesome video thanks
Great flashlights Olight is my favorite lately
When you enter into a place to be explored, I enjoy seeing the entrance after entering.
Will always try to do so whenever appropriate.
good to see you with the IKS
Indeed folks!
Nice! Your channel is growing
I love to watch these videos, especially the ones like this, as there's no cat in hell's chance you're gonna get me down those little holes.
It was a bit tight.
Brilliant explore
Excellent explore guys love all the names on the rock. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🛸🛸
👍
Nice; pretty cool the urbex trinity come together to explore some tunnels👌🏻
Camera quality is superb 👍
Only a couple of miles from me. Used to be totally open until early 1960s when some scouts got stuck down there, so backfilled and was only later that an entrance was dug in. A house on the road next to the railway line is called "the miners arms", was a pub and was open until 1963 I believe. It was built originally for the labourers who built the railway line, as this area was called "the shant" and was their temporary accommodation camp...they were not welcome in the village. In fact, the seam of ore that this mine was built to extract was discovered while making the line, making it the last mine for this sort of ore in the south of England. As the industry had disappeared by then that could process it, it was loaded onto railway trucks on site and sent to the Midlands.
Yes we had a look at the the miners arms whilst we where there.
Super awesome video bud😀loved the part where everyone crosses over the pit lol 😂 Nice flashlight I’ll have to get one😀
Thank you sir!
A flashlight? Dude, you're English. It's a torch.
He's selling out yo! Lol jk
fleshlight lol
@@j-man6001 Grow up.
Yeah exactly
I can't win. I call it a torch and the americans complain. I call it a flashlight and the brits complain 😂
1st class video to watch thank you take care kind regards from me kenneth💞👍
Excellent. Really enjoyed that...
Thank you.
Great explore. Good to see both teams together. Best, Paul Carpenter in Lower Boddington
Thank you Paul.
Awesome video boys
Thank you 👍
Torchwise, I get by quite well with various LED torches but I do have a lot of love for my old railway Bardic lamp, have several including a dark blue painted Royal Navy one and an olive green army one plus a newer Network Rail badged one and a very old BR one. Whilst they don't signal distant galaxies they do have a very good wide throw and the batteries last forever, I have converted my Network Rail one to hold a really large projector LED and runs off of a Li-Po pack and can last for up to 48 hours whilst still throwing a good light.
Sound's like a bad-ass custom lamp to me 😉👍
the mine was Amazing glad y'all got out safe
👍
24:06 it's a freemason signature! Very interesting ! Thanks for sharing 😊🇨🇦
Good eyes!
Great Lights , Thank You :) Qc
Looks like fun , stay safe. 👍
Jesus folks! Lol nice video! Thanks again
👍
Guys you need helmets for your own safety. I always have one when underground and good job too as I almost split my head open standing up on sharp slate. I was lucky as my one light got smashed to bits where it hit. Keep safe and keep exploring.
Wearing masks and gloves is also very prudent.... mold, fungus can give you a bad lung infection, bacteria can enter body by scrapes and cuts, and who knows what other chemical may be lingering in there from way back when regularly used chemicals where not known to cause health problems.
Need to tell your mate to invest in a belt
🤣
He doesn't wear a belt 'cause he's gay ...he needs to take pants down fast .
H Max you need help mate. Dunno why you thought that was okay
love those torches, can really like up the bruises on my head now! haha ouch!
😂
Hi. I have only ever visited a local R.O.C bunker and have never done anything quite like this, but I noticed you have all the gear apart from head protection? A head injury down there could be interesting!
Nice film. Liked it. 👍
Yeah we get moaned at a lot for not having a bash hat but at the end of the day it’s our choice. Maybe I like head wounds 🤣
Iv put this one off purely because the entry don't like small gaps lol. should always be careful in mines though! never know what gas down there
Yikes a little sketchy bridge folks, my hat of to your Gr8 videos :)
This is so cool.
Hi Simon, you lot are nuts, that was hilarious when one of them let one go and stank the mine out, but could you imagine working down there next to someone who had real bad wind pmsl. Great video, thanks for sharing it made my night. x
I think that farts would be the least of your worries if you had been working down there back then 😂
@@SubExploration very true unfortunately. x
Sounds rather moist down there!!!! Sod going over that bridge!
😂
It would be an interesting project to turn an abandoned mine into a habitable domicile. It's possible, and offers some novel architectural possibilities. Designing all the necessary facilities in nothing but a damp & narrow corridor would inevitably spark up innovations that would be fascinating in standard buildings as well.
Interesting idea but i would pick a mine that i didn't have to crouch to get through.
@@SubExploration some of the lead mines here in Missouri have upwards of 250 MILES (400km) of tunnels, some of which are big enough to drive a full size tri-axle dump-truck through, some of those would be really cool to build into a home 👍
Good video!
Thank you.
I want to do this explore, Summer 2021.. ! Haha
Love the way iks go first
Well if accidents happen then I wouldn’t want to miss it 😂
Good point
Oh man , any unlined stuff gives the real heebbie jeebies . Gas detectors needed lads. Great vid
Ian forgot the gas detector 😂
The metal pot reminds me of old methelated spirit tins. For an old fashioned lamp maybe.
My pop worked in the coal mines he had something that looked like that.
I think you may be right.
Frickin amazing.
👍
omg wow !! amazing video folk :D
Amazing indeed folk!
Totally forgot about that place. Went on a trip there years ago and never really heard it mentioned since!
It's a nice little place to visit and yes, it has been kept off the radar for quite some time.
@@SubExploration good to see it again
Regarding the broad arrow. Could it have possibly been used as a hidden ammo dump during WWII in case of invasion or a place to leave messages info?
Goes in to mine from 1800s. .. " well that doesn't look real stable now does it ". 😂😂
Matthew is spot on, maybe add copy to the bottom of screen, ask everyone to be quiet for a second.
The very oldest carvings on the walls, from the 19th century, feel so different in significance from those from WW2 in other videos, for instance, in that in the first case, there's hardly any person alive keeping memories of them, while in the second case, there are plenty, resulting in the first being perceived as ghosts in my mind versus the later, which I conceive as more flesh and bones beings, even if they've passed away.
I remember my first real potholing, was at Merstham caves and very nearly my last as a giant chunk of chalk fell in the main chamber and it was a right palaver, don't think they are there any more as they were beginning to build the M25 around this time. Iran has a vast vast network of tunnels which was built by the Persians to irrigate the dry land, if ever you see something before you die sort of thing, go visit them as they are breathtaking to behold that no camera comes close to replicating and these were built when us in Europe were still living under rocks and in caves, you feel the majesty of the ages in them tunnels and all dug by human hand, no explosives, no drill rigs but hammer, chisel, sweat and graft.
Just had a quick Google. Looks like those tunnels are around 3000 years old. Not bad at all.
me encantan tus videos muy buenos
Gracias Señor!
Cool mine exploration.
Thank you.
Sub Exploration One request. Without a high-resolution camera if you move too fast it tends to be a little dizzy.
I just like when they are crossing that hole and get to the middle of the hole they look like they jump up and down a little
What camera and lens are you using ? The shots are really sharp . As usual a great video . I missed the Olight deal so I’ll wait for the next one . X
Typically I use a Sigma 10-20mm wide-angle but i also have a Samyang 8mm fisheye for the super bendy shots.
at 0:43 he says crap, which is funny for me idk why 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We found that the other days but only went as far as the bridge gona go back tomorrow with our ladder as the wood looks abit dodgy now
An excellent video you cannot beet doing it with friends, my only complaint is it is very rare not to have a toilet clip. Perhaps you should carry a port a loo with you :)
Well done on another brilliant video guys
I DIDN'T REALISE!!!! I'll bring an old bucket next time 😂
Looks like you are in a remake of Goonies
Hmm, What did I say about farting in tunnels, just a couple of weeks ago? LOL!!!!!!! - Parped it, and parked it, right where everyone else has no choice but to go right through it 😂.
Oohh, IKS... Incredibly Kramped Spaces!
It never ceases to amaze me where you guys keep finding places like these, but I'm glad you do because it's entertaining in the extreme, and an insight into things that most people would never otherwise know existed. Just be careful, I don't want to hear on the news about a group of explorers being killed in tunnel roof fall - It happened to a very experienced WW1 battlefield explorer, just a few years ago, whilst exploring some tunnels in France.
Yes you did call it 😂
Oh we don't intend to have an accident any time soon. Then again, i don't suppose that any one expects too.
Ahhhh but did you do the other one
Did u do the other side
Mine videos are damn fascinating, man.
Great work!
Thank you.
just wondering what camera were you using in this video?
The mark you called war department, is an ordinance survey bench mark, on an O.S. map it should say heigh above sea level.
Thank you for the clarification. I'll keep an eye out in the future 👍
id like to join you some time iv been watching all of you videos there epic !
@Sub Exploration Might sound silly question but do you check for bad air when you go caving and old mines? Because I see a lot of people just plunge down these holes not knowing what to expect. I know you do a lot of abseiling and the like a just wondered what you do as a backup just in case things goes tits up.
So planning wise, it depends upon what we are doing as to what our backup plan is. We rarely show what happens in the background but as it happens, our Paris video that's out on Sunday night gives a full description for the first time as to how we prepare for the worst.
We didn't have to worry too much about bad air with this particular place as it has been well studied in the past and a friend had already been the week prior.
@@SubExploration Keep up the good videos as enjoy watching. Looking forward to Paris Catacombs video as it seems like a tunnel network of two halves.
Some butter 😂
So... where is this?
What is that first shaft you entered? An escape hole?
no idea to be honest.
why is it everytime i watch these i end up bobbing and weaving as they walk
Christ that hole has "come on in, it's not a trap" written all over it LOL
Oh and, does anyone else think this guy is like Ade Edmondson and John Lydon rolled into one?
Your not the first person to mention Ade Edmondson 😂
8:28 That’s a big rig for such a small camera! 😳
People say when your camera goes out of focus out of no where it could be a ghost
9:14 FN189?? Alert the Rebellion !! Storm Troopers have been in that mine!!
🤣
Do you leave a rescue guy on the surface with phone signal for calling 999 when you do these places? I think you should! 🤙
Yes we had a guy up top at all times 👍
19:17 what a fossilized hand in the wall on the left bones of some sort
Very nice tunnels, but they stopped digging very fast.
I guess they had no need for a mine in the area once the tracks where built.
Apologies for asking what is probably a stupid question. How did they know there was Iron Ore down there in 1850 ?
Take a pack of snaplights with you to mark the way i would recomend, they are cheap and could help stop you getting lost guys 👍
I usually carry one or two ;-)
You could prank these lads so easy. Stand around a dark corner in zombie makeup and wait for them to come around. Pants would be shit! 🤣
😂 something similar had been attempted on me 😂
3:19 ahh easier said than done hahahahaha
Nice explore, if you like underground stuff check out culver hole in port eynon 😀👍
I'd rather watch a comercial made by you than a unskipable one.
By the way I need a new flashlight.
Thanks 🖒💯
indeed, so do I. I don't mind they actually advertise an item they like and do it while filming than some dumb ass commercial over and over again.
How do you guys find these places
A lot of time on google.
Witch country is that??
UK
British Steel
GAS METER only as good as the person using it or not in your case
He forgot!
glad you lads are doing this. it's all nope to me.
I'm sure everyone watching has noticed the total absence of any safety equipment what so ever
Great video, 3 of my all favourite RUclips Channels, please do more collaborations together, the perfect partnership !
We will be seeing the IKS guys again at the War and Peace show later in the month ;-)
I got this torch for £10 lol.... saving 100s hahaha
That's one thing I'll never do is go into some mine i been closed for 60 to 70 years. Literally playing with your life!!!
i'm pretty early..
Anybody notice what looks like a face in the crack buy the well ladder??
Good video can't help but look at Ian's haircut
😂
