God desires to expose all the deception, but the people don’t want to hear it or see it. They refuse to realize that they’ve been deceived, and thus God will send them more lying preachers, teachers, and prophets as He has in the past. People will always lean towards what their itchy ears want to hear. I came out of her, and cast all the false teachings away, and Gods Holy Word that I had hidden in my heart all my life is coming alive more than ever before. God is so Good & Gracious! I love His Word more and more everyday!

You slaughtered one of my sacred cows with this one Ted - for that I’m grateful. Thank you for exposing the false with truth.
I know I’ll be less anti christ after I’ve fully grasped this teaching. Thanking you.

The one where I was taught and I believed that the miracle was the supernatural ability to speak a language that they never knew or learned, together with the concept that somehow the Jews from around the world are going to gather in Israel and Jerusalem now in the last days as spoken by the prophets, which now I understand as you say were the believers from around the world that came together back then fulfilling the prophecies.
      Hope my writing makes sense.
It may not seem like much but it’s a big one for me.

It is a difficult thing getting free of these strongholds, they are so deeply embedded in my very thinking. Having grown up Catholic then shamefully spending decades in LEADERSHIP of a non-denominational tongue-twisting church that eventually joined Bethel Redding looney bin. This 3rd way makes sense to me, unlearning is hard.

ÌI agree... but I recall in the early 90s when I initially returned to the Word with this question in my heart, "What if I believe some things that are false?"
I was willing to challenge everything I was taught. It was both difficult and thrilling at the same time. The Word of God started to shred all my former beliefs. But truth came alive to me. I used to say, "reading the Word is a process of replacing old thoughts with truth.... on truth at a time."
Are we afraid of learning another lie? God is faithful to the child-like heart. Is a child afraid of learning a lie? No.... they take it all in without fear. Take in the Word without fear.
I am actually preaching against something I assumed a few months ago. Am I ashamed? No... I welcome the correction. There is no condemnation. I received the clarity gladly. I don't even desire to go back and delete the video that included an assumption. I grow daily just like you.... and I am excited that God's Word continues to bring us clarity.... I am I am so excited about all that we are learning.

They all had telepathic powers opened up to them which allowed them to communicate with each other. Like how aliens can speak to us. Just my thoughts. Peace and love friends.

With all respect, the Word clearly says they began to speak wiith other tongues, in other words, not their own language or tongue thus the multitude who came together "every man heard them speak in his own language". Please do not cause confusion.

.Read further: "Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And now we hear every man his own tongue, wherein we were born. STOP spreading false doctrines.

    Great message!
But I do have a question. Wasn’t it both other languages and prophetic tongues in Acts 2? I thought the miracle of the other languages in Acts 2 was to confirm that the gospel was for all nations. And the words that they were saying were prophecy from the word of God.
After all, it says the speakers were all Galileans in verse 7. The multitude of Jews and devout men from all nations were the listeners (verse 6).

You are very close. Yes, i said that in the past. But we gain more clarity as we continue in the Word. I, for one, will not defend my former statements if I'm corrected as I continue to study the Bible.
This one is easy... The crowd was guessing or assuming they were all from Galilee. But they were from the nations. The Word is not declaring that they were Galileeans. Acts 1 declares they from many nations. Which then agrees with the Old Testament... that the believers would come from every nation.

@@tedbrooks-formerwordoffait1316Acts 1:11 also seems to indicate that they were from Galilee. I also don’t see why the people would be confused to hear in their own language if the speakers were from their nations anyway.

It agrees with the OT that believers would come from all nations. It just seems like that fulfillment came when the listeners in Acts 2 believed Peter’s message.

I will be dealing with these very questions in the next videos.
So let's think this through. Go with the concept of everything in the O.T. first.
All of the concepts that have pattern in the O.T.
      Tongue(s) - yes
      Prophetic imagery - yes
People from all nations - yes
All God's people prophets - yes
Speaking in known human languages by the Spirit - no
Word of God in Parables - yes
      Prophets using Parables - yes
Physical things carrying spiritual meaning - yes
I love pattern... and when something is seen in the New Testament, I can usually find it in the O.T.
But speaking human, or Gentile languages by the Spirit, I can't find.
I will keep searching the scriptures just in case I missed something.

@@tedbrooks-formerwordoffait1316 I agree that finding an OT pattern is definitely a good idea. I've been thinking it over, and I have something for consideration. I'll try not to be too long, but I wanted to share my thoughts.
Here's what I was thinking. In Acts 2, the Spirit causes the believers to speak tongues, and because of this the crowd is confused. Where do we find both tongues and confusion in the OT? Babel! God came down and literally created new languages to divide the people of the earth (by language and nations according to Deut. 32). This caused confusion. So, at Babel the languages caused confusion. This is a minor point, but if you look in the Septuagint it even uses the same words for tongue and confusion in Genesis 11 as in Acts 2. Another concept we see throughout the OT is that God will reclaim the nations and have them for an inheritance. Psalm 2 and Psalm 82 come to mind immediately. If you think about it, this would be a reversal of Babel.
In Acts 2 I believe we see this reclaiming of the nations at its inception. Whereas tongues (in the sense of human languages) brought confusion in Genesis 11, God's word (also a tongue) brings freedom from confusion (Babel) no matter what language is being spoken in Acts 2. Yes, the crowd was confused at first, but many of those who decided to listen to what Peter had to say from the Scripture believed. The gospel defeats language barriers and national barriers. In this way Acts 2 is a spiritual reversal of the events of Genesis 11.
If we look at the passage with this connection in mind, it seems that both human languages and the language of God are necessary in Acts 2. What do you think?
