"The House of the Rising Sun" is a traditional folk song, sometimes called "Rising Sun Blues". It tells of a person's life gone wrong in the city of New Orleans; many versions also urge a sibling or parents and children to avoid the same fate. The most successful commercial version, recorded in 1964 by British rock group The Animals, was a number one hit on the UK Singles Chart and also in the United States and France. As a traditional folk song recorded by an electric rock band, it has been described as the "first folk rock hit"
He started at the sweet age of 6 with playing the guitar. He's Brazilian and thus has a whole variety of rhythms and dances of the latin world already in his blood. He never learned music theory but by observing others and thus trained his inner ears and above all his feeling. He's like a good meal where a lot of ingredients like salt, pepper, chili and so on got combined into something very special and highly unique. Naudo is absolutely unique. An artist like a lotus flower.

Thanks for that info as I am a guitar player myself and I often wonder on how these "greats" got their start. I assume he listens to a song a few times and then plays back the main melody and then adds licks and runs and other stuff. He is the best acoustic guitar player I have ever heard. Even better than the great Tommy Emmanuel.

If I remember correctly he said in an interview that he never practises. Those songs that he plays he can play by instinct. His feeling just knows how to play them. That's the level of genius we're talking about here. I can't understand this too. This for me is too high to comprehend. How is it he never makes mistakes even when he plays the most complex and most complicated stuff that no-one else can play except him? This is beyond my imagination ability. But the moment all is in place the bass plays a totally independent melody, the rhythm is switched on more stable like a Swiss clock, the rhythm guitar does it's steady beats, all is in full flow, fully going , our minds already blown, we can't comprehend it anymore . . . we think: what the . . . is going on here, how the hell is he doing that, as if a whole band would be playing and each of his five fingers is another band member, completely independent of the rest, his left hand finds any fret on any place in any time, at any speed with the reliability of an atomic clock and then when our brain cells are already fighting to understand all this he delivers his real magic trick. On top of the band he starts to make a solo improvisation and the band continues, his bass finger knows exactly where to go, the rhythm guitar continues, and all the rest. And at that moment I go: What??? Noway is this possible.
I know TE doesn't have this skill. Never can TE play what Naudo can. Naudo is in a league on his own let alone his jazzy improvisational skills. I know no guitarist who has the skill of Naudo. And his trademark is how relaxed, effortless and naturally he plays. His feeling for the music and the soulfulness of his playing is unmatched in the world of Fingerstyle guitar I would say. I know no other fingerstyle guitarist as complete as Naudo with complete soulfulness and feeling and complete technical perfection. This man is a miracle and it's an honour and a privilege to know him. May God bless this man that he can inspire us with his magic and with the beauty of the music that his beautiful soul radiates out to the world.
Man you actually have met him and know him. You now have the honor of knowing the best guitar player of our time and I think of any time. So he can listen to a song for the first time and after one or two or a dozens listening's get the guitar out and play it back without hours of practice.. I just heard him do "Just the way you are" and man did he jazz that up. Does he make a living with his guitar and if not he sure should. Thanks for all of your info.
@@peternemeth1777 did you watch this interview here on yt? if so, could you share with us how to find it? i'm brazillian myself but he's not hyped here...like, I was thinking why not brazillian televions try to bring it here and do an interview with him. Never found any videos of him speaking portuguese. What I know - from reading comments here on youtube - is that he lives in spain and went there long time ago. Only that.

I have just discovered this fantastic fingerstyle guitarist ! He is eclectic. Doesn’t need a band to support hum. Very good job, almost when he plays « Johnny be good ». Exceptional Bass Line. 👍👍
He doesn't just see the notes as finger placements, he views them with emotion. You hold a small true place in the heart of the guitar.

I was on stage in 1974 at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado the first time I played that in front of a crowd. There was a heavy Latino/Latina presence in the audience that night and it was just a filler spot between bands so I changed it up... The tuning was a little deeper and I blistered out a thumb an finger tapping in between the Spanish style of play, it was my first standing ovation so I will never forget that night at the Rocks.

One of the earliest versions (very similar) of this song was in sheet music I purchased while attending University of Toronto's Royal Academy of Music in the 1970's. One of my favourite songs. Joan Baez’s version is superb for her voice, The Animals’ version is the classic. And this one is excellent. He goes a tad off piste at the end, but so what it’s great.
