I Tried Temporary Sleeve Tattoos for a Week

- Do temporary sleeve tattoos last, and do they look legit? I ordered $2 full sleeve tattoo sheets from SHEIN and tried them out for a whole week. In this review I'll show how to apply tattoo sleeves by yourself, I'll test how long these cheap tats last, and try to remove the fake tattoos after a week's worth of wear.

1. Clean Skin
2. Shave off little hairs
3. Choose towel the size of the tattoo and wet it completely
4. Cover the entire tattoo with wet towel and wait at least 1 min before removing wet towel
5. Once completed - look for any bubbles and run tattoo under water and dab lightly till smooth
6. After completely dry at some point on day 1 - add lotion ( non scented is possible )
7. By day 2 depending on placement it will begin to feel like part of your skin and can last a week easy unless you want to remove it. use rubbing alcohol - this is fast and easy.
8. Ive found the longer it stays on the better it feels after day 2/3 but if one area touches another tattoo area they can remove each other... so be aware of folding areas

They looked really cool, and powdering them to get the matte finish was a good move as it really made them look more realistic. I tend to use sellotape to take any temp tatts off (I've not done any as big as those though) and it definitely is a lot easier than scrubbing at your skin - literally you place the tape on the tatt & press it down as if sticking it to the skin...then peel the tape off & the tatt under it should come away with it. Temporary tattoos have come such a long way from the ones we used as kids.

yes! I was so shocked. Especially since these fake tattoos were so cheap.
My understanding is (for removal), you can rub them in with oil, leave the oil for a little while, then scrub the oil off with a towel, then cover the tattoos with (wide) sticky tape, and then rip the tape off, the sticky tape will take the ink off.

So great! Much better than life long mistakes!! That color was even better than real. I'm not a fan of big tats that last a lifetime, especially on girls (I have two daughters, go ahead and tell me I'm old fashioned) but if it's just for the weekend, what the heck.

The easiest fastest and simplest way to do this is to run the paper under a faucet and get it fully wet then lay the tat against your skin and press it down to make sure it takes. The wetter the paper the better as it will make the tat glide off the paper effortlessly and onto your skin for a full hold. Easy peasy done.

Do they make full sleeves that cover the entire arm not just one side?
I use these alot, put rubbing alcohol on the tattoo not cloth, or baby oil leave on a couple of minutes wipes right off

I hadn't really thought of it seriously until I tried these fake tattoo sleeves, and I kept being surprised every time I looked in the mirror- I like the look a lot! It is a huge financial investment though (not to mention the pain factor!) so I think I'd probably keep testing out temp tattoos for the near future :) It really changed my perspective to do this video, sort of like when you try on an outfit you never thought you could pull off and end up wanting it to make it your own style. I hope maybe this vid inspires you to try out a tattoo look or other new look you hadn't thought to pull off before!

Does it stay even if you go to the pool and shower a lot?
I didn't test it in a pool, that would have been great to try! I showered every day during this week challenge but I didn't scrub my arm, I washed my arm pretty lightly so as not to disturb the tattoo too much. I imagine it would fare alright in the pool if your arm is occasionally getting wet, but a prolonged soak would probably shorten the tattoo lifespan.
Many companies stop producing it because doctors found out that the colors are going through the skin and causing toxication in organs, mostly the liver. So I recommend you getting your liver checked if everythings okay.

When my kids were small they liked rub on tattoos. One word for a quick removal? SELLOTAPE (or scotch tape, sticky back plastic etc….)

I took it off with 90 percent alcohol in a small towel and it worked wonders 🙂👍

about a week! It started flaking at the end of the week- it depends on how well you care for the tattoos. If you try it out, let me know how long it lasted for you!
Rubbing Alcohol/Nail polish on a cloth/kitchen roll and then press/dab leave it soak in and remove and it will take it all up with little/no rubbing required

It lasted about a week, but you'll see from my video that the tattoos will start to fade after a few days. These tattoos did get wet in the shower and it wasn't a problem but I haven't tried swimming with them or letting them get wet for a prolonged period of time. If you try it out underwater, let me know how it works!

it looks patchy because the hairs get in the way
It's pretty tough to pull off with hairy arms- and I've seen some temp tattoo brands advise to shave the area you'd like to apply a temp tattoo on before the application. The hair gets in the way of a clean application unfortunately.
I would think as soon as you start moving your arm it would start coming off

Haha I did shower every day! I just didn't scrub my arm with a loofah and tried not to keep it under the water for too long. You just want to soap and rinse gently 😉

one, you probably should have used a sponge, two, you have absolutely no muscle on your arms, so it kinda looks weird!
