      Depends on the individual, i worked for a firm years ago with a few joiners and most would empty their vans to hang a door. An old boy on there would do litteraly any job with a cordless and his kit bag, thats it!! Great old school joiner

I’ve learned to eyeball things like centering the bolt when I cut in a passage set, or centering a knob on a bifold door, etc. I don’t even own one of those squares he used. Anything to help the job go faster instead of hyper focusing on things no one’s going to notice.

      Least favourite part of any job for me is loading out of the house. The job is finished and I want to be gone but there's several trips up and down the stairs or garden to get everything back into my vehicle. Tedious

      @@aaronbell8527 some days I have a list of different types of job to sort in a house as a general handyman and I keep going back to get different tools for each job, start fitting a door or maybe some handles, then a bit of plumbing or hanging things on walls and by the end of the day I have virtually every tool I own in the house. I should take stuff back once finished with as I get other stuff out but I always forget and end up having to shift it all at once at the end of the day 🤦🏻‍♂️

    • @sessionbox4256
      @sessionbox4256 8 месяцев назад

      I'm an apprentice carpenter. Been doing my trade 5 years.
      I started my apprenticeship 3 years ago and it's a 4 year apprenticeship here. I would say that electricians can make more money salary wise. But as a carpenter you can take on massive and small jobs and make good and decent money... But with Carpenter it requires more investment in tools.
      There is more job satisfaction in carpentry since you could put in a staircase and it could stand for 100 years.
      Best bet. Is to go with an electrician for a day and a carpenter for a day. Even for free just to see how the trades work and what you are interested in
