I had no idea that this was a thing. It makes sense for people in certain situations though. Especially when one of the people are in the military. Good for them!
@@Kalmontanna I just think there could be some influence considering Mormonism is right there next to Montana…. It doesn’t have to be a direct religious tie…. Heck I’m working on a series of four books for the second one is talking about how religion has affected society and made people make decisions even if they don’t subscribe to religious doctrine…. I’m going after religion all the way back to Mesopotamia times, and I plan on starting off by stating the obvious: The Bible likes to make accusations that they themselves do… They literally built a society on sand, and yet they made it a major parable in the Bible. How ironic. This mission is 31 years in the making, no where am I gonna explain all the pieces to you in a post… I just want to make my intentions as clear as I can…. The proximity of this relationship “by proxy” to Mormonism …I find interesting.
My fiancé is deployed overseas I’m doing this next week
My husband and I are one of the couples featured
Are you the hot, pregnant blonde??

Man the more I learn about it, the more weird and bizarre I realize my home state is
I love Montana, one of my favorite states! I’ve traveled over a lot of it including swimming in Flathead Lake.
Alo ... proxy marriage has been around for a long time I think I remember it going back to the Middle Ages .
I just never heard of double proxy
Go Grizzlies!
So you can get married and be on your honeymoon on the same time
And in Montana you don’t need an officiate to marry a couple, a couple can marry themselves.
Thank you Tom for this service you did to me last year.
All you have to do is say this is my husband or this is my wife and you are considered married in this state.
Hope you will do a follow-up interview to report the predictable results of this interview.
They ended up divorced, hating each other, and having a years- long court battle over who will keep that lamp they both didn’t like.
This is so beautiful it brought a treats to my eyes knowing that military personnel can still get before it’s too late. Thank you Montana.
How incredible!
I’m here because I’ll be having a double proxy wedding haha!
Peg Allison, the clerk, is low-key hot.

One thing I love about US is how easy most legal errands are, the goverment just makes it accesible one way or another.
What about same sex marriages? Not one was featured in your report.
I love this. How sweet.
Gotta love America 😍
This by proxy has Mormonism written all over it to me… I'd be interested with-what history says on it.
Mormons do it for the dead, this is for the living. Plus Mormons is all in secret…

Whirlwind Productions I'm pretty sure I recall decades ago learning in history of proxy weddings as far back as the Middle Ages .

Why get married if more than half end the n divorce
Because it's better to have loved then lost than never to have loved at all.
Divorce rates have actually been on the decline since the 1980s.
Goretexmethod cause you might be part of the 50% that lives “happily ever after”!

Awesome for the military 🪖 personel who want to get married. But can't have a traditional wedding before getting deployed.
No, they need to keep their mind on their mission. No marriages.
@@lewstone5430 - Are you saying they shouldn't get married? Everyone has right to get married if they choose to.
@Edie Baxter I’m kidding.
@@lewstone5430 -Sorry didn't know.
