Apologies for not reacting to many of your suggestions. I really wanted to listen to some of their music and some of you suggested the Tiny Desk Concert so i went for it... I fell in love with one of the songs i have heard it 50 times in the last 11 hours after hearing it here first... Thank you so much for everything

You calling Spring Day “the panty dropper” gave me the giggles 😆.
The song was actually written by RM about missing friends and loved ones, like the long waiting out of winter to spring to see someone again that is far away.
The music vid on the other hand actually reflected themes showing solidarity to the victims of a national tragedy. I suggest you watch the “spring day explained” vid after watching that one for a better appreciation.

@@AggressivelySweet and a second explanation video to "Spring Day" is by Italian Army "what you still don't know about BTS Spring Day MV" it adds to it 💜 The song is still in the charts since 2017 in SK and bops up the charts every time BTS drops a new song. Longest charting songs by far in SK history.
@@AggressivelySweetI read that 'spring day' was a song written in memories of all the people and specially students going to a field trip that was board a ship and had a tragic accident. Most of them died about hundred of soul. It happens 2015, you can research on that. Hundreds of very young students died on that 🚢 ship.

They all bring something unique to the table. That's why they work together so well.
Really short from right to left:
Jimin - very high pitch, sensitive tone
RM - rapper, group leader, deep more authoritarian voice
Jin - high pitch, powerhouse belter
V - deep soulful voice but can also go high
Jungkook (JK) - lead singer, adlibs, sub rapper, basically the glue that unites it all
Suga (Agust D for solo works) - rapper, medium range voice
J-Hope - rapper, sub vocalist, soft medium range voice, dance leader

In kpop terms yes, but to those unfamiliar with kpop this works. To be honest in the case of BTS I don't think any of the terms apply anymore. 😄
@@imajinallthepurple jungkook is definitely the main vocalist lol it’s why he does all the vocal guides and sings majority of choruses himself. It’s like saying RM isn’t the leader anymore bc they’ve all taken on some of the things that used to be all on him , or saying hobi isn’t the dance leader and he and jimin aren’t the main dancers…. They don’t have these titles for show…. The titles come with a lot of extra work behind the scenes and to diminish that would really be messed up. Credit where credit is due.. bc some do more in different areas and a lot more than others. If you don’t know what jungkook does as a main vocalist you should watch “main vocalist jungkook” by Ida s. Most of the stuff he does which we hear and see from the members, producers and actual vocal breakdowns , the extra things he does for recording music like vocal guides which is singing the entire song alone and being the foundation of how the others hear the song, live performances and the extra he does for that, people seem to think main vocalist means more lines… but that’s like 5% of what he does and it’s unfortunate that it’s just tossed aside like it doesn’t matter. Just bc you don’t see the 95% of what he does doesn’t mean it’s not happening…. So let’s appreciate the extra hours and extra duties any of the boys put in just like the other members respect them. Most people don’t know that jungkook alone records the choruses and it’s just his voice in different tones layered and no other vocalists are on most of them. There are live recordings made for back tracks and so most of the time live another member is singing live over jungkooks back vocal… yeh there’s just so much you discount by deciding that stuff doesn’t matter .

"Any of the boys" would be the main point here. Don't look down on any of their contributions - I certainly don't. The way I see it is that they all have different strenghts that they use to their fullest to make up the amazing team that they are. You're free to disagree... 🤷♀️

Love your reaction. The guy on the right is Jimin. My favourite ok kpop. He has an angelical and unique voice. I have never heard a voice like his. I think thats why we suffer from Jimin's effect. By the way he is considered the King of Kpop. We would like you to react more songs of BTS. The guys are amazing all 7. The talent and their friendship and mutual respect explain their success.

When BTS talks about love in their songs it's not specifically a romantic love, more of a general love that you can then apply to your situation. A romantic love, family love, friend love or even self love. They are big into loving yourself and mental health.

There are other songs too that just can not be understood without an explanation if you really care about the meanings of the songs. Ida S. is a JK fan and you notice her bias. Unfortunately she is also a little naive: While Suga does play instruments V took to the Violine likely for the aesthetics alone and probably given up on it. With JK it is pure speculation what he is still playing because he picks up stuff and drops stuff without rhyme or reason much to RM's exasperation. My best guess - that someone else made - is that JK has ADHD but he hasn't been diagnosed as far as we know. It is still one of the better individual introduction videos.

It is a little biased and shows only their success and emphasizes too much on BTS wanting to be number 1 on the US charts with Dynamite. It isn't really true. That was just a nice side effect. But I understand why it was built like that. I don't think it mention their free self made content like the mixtapes. Nevertheless it has a good built in the story.
XCeleste other videos are also very good like her ARMY vid or her updated Hardships video or the "from nobodies to legends" videos. They are some of the best summaries. 💜
If you have a little more time bby gang mag makes good videos like "BTS vs KPOP" that comes on the critical stuff from an academic point of view with sources and everything since these are not easy topics. 💜
The best series is "The Rise of Bangtan" one. It is probably the best out there and also gives all the missing context for what happened including the personal attacks, SK, the Idol Industry and the West etc. But that one takes a lot of time but it is well worth it and can teach a lot. 💜

"Save Me" MV is one take and a crazy choreography. There are also numerous live performances and the choreo practice. Jimin is the guy from the far right having the highest vocals. Also his tone is very unique and praised by many professionals.

The on on the far right is Jimin and he has a super high singing voice.... also Spring Day has never left the charts in Korea sing it was released in 2017. It is a much loved song as it relates to a national tragedy that happened there.

Loved your reactions to My Universe, and I’d remember two things. BTS has one of the largest catalog of songs you’ll find. It’s about ~80 MVs, 300+ songs, dance choreography vids, behind the scenes etc. no one has more content. Sooo. Take your time. Army is ridiculously aggressive in a friendly way. Enjoy the journey they are a delight with so many good songs almost all deeply meaningful.

Glad you liked Save Me. Sorry about Spring Day not impacting you as much on first listen. We forget sometimes that you need more context. This being a stripped down version of an amazing track, it has an iconic MV, and has not left the Korean charts since 2017 for good reason. Only when you view the MV and the explanation video, will you understand it’s singular beauty and significance.

It's so hard to choose ONE song, because we don't all know what kind of songs you like and since BTS has so many different genres in their discography it makes it even harder to choose xD
The choice of a first song is actually quite important because it can determine whether the person will be interested in listening to more BTS or not. Let's say someone hates poppy songs and I suggest 'Dynamite', they'll be like "nope not for me" and move on to something else, when in fact it doesn't represent their discography at all.
I always recommend at least 3 BTS songs now: a ballad, a more rap-oriented song, and a pop song, so I know that there is for every taste ^^
I heard tiny concert first. And it had exactly what u suggested. I am very very open to different music. I dont listen to metal but i can appreciate a good metal song u know. But my mind is BLOWN bySaveMe i cant stop hearing it. I cant wait for more

I would recommend doolset lyrics, they have the best translations for future use (you will see later🤣) If you love Rap you're in for a treat. I like to watch the first time without subs to get a feel for the song. Then watch with subs the second time. But there is no 'right' way, just enjoy the journey. There is so much to see. I think the best doc is Xceleste, the seven members of BTS. But you can't go wrong. Take your time and we will watch however long or short the video is, we just love to see people enjoy getting to know our boys.

Great reaction video! Spring Day is one of their iconic songs which has such a deep meaning. If you watch the music video it’s best to also watch the explanation video, there’s a bunch out there. One that is recommended a lot is the one by Italian Army. Another excellent live performance is the MMA 2019 stage. I think it was their best one! It’s a pretty long video at over 30 mins but it’s so worth it. While watching, just remember it’s for a music awards show and not one of their concerts 😂. 💜

I've seen that other people have recommended watching the introduction guides... When it comes to the individual members, don't get too stuck on the information given about them. The best thing to do to get to know the members is to just watch as much possible content about them and then form your own conclusion about their personality and such. It takes some time of course, but they're all very likable (as well as very funny to watch often too), so it's a fun journey.
I'm glad you liked Jimin's voice so much! That was the first thing that stood out about him for me as well. He's one of my biases (favorites).

Don't worry, it's impossible to start at a bad place. But it is a GREAT idea to watch twice, especially when you get to the really complicated MV's (Blood Sweat and Tears, Mic Drop, Idol, ON, etc, ) and remember we DO NOT mind long videos. Ha ha ha WAIT till you see them dance. And yes we all love our Jimin's voice. They all have some fantastic solos though.

He is such a sweetheart, sings love songs and had a great self-discovery journey since he first debuted.

Bts vocalist are incredible… but bts rappers are legendary…. Their word play, their cadence , their delivery… omg seriously some of the most clever raps I’ve ever heard and they’re solo rap stuff is def more hardcore than their bts stuff… there’s so much passion and emotion in bts ones and their own…. I think this is always a great way to start with BTS. You get to see them sing live, which also allows you to know that when you watch their MV you know they are really singing. And you really get to see who singing what parts, who has what tone.

actually, Spring Day, the last song, was written by RM as tribute for Sewol Ferry tragedy where 400+ people died mostly teenage students. pls watch spring day official music video and the explanations of the video.
Just to clarify, the song was written about longing and friendship; the MV has references to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. One thing that made me appreciate Spring Day is how you can apply it to many situations where you are missing or grieving someone. For example they sang it quite a few times during the pandemic and it fit so well with everyone missing their loved ones and also with BTS missing being able to perform for their fans.
@@banje72 bts confirmed just lately that it was a tribute for sewol ferry tragedy.the spring day music video explainations came out but remained a theory for bighit said nothing about it.after the tragedy, the south korean president warned anyone or any artists that would write a song or make a movie about the said tragedy will be blacklisted. the government didnt even let anyone visits the family of the victims.. so the bts members secretly visited the mourning family not only to give financial but to comfort them. 2017,spring day was released and bts just said that the song was about missing someone in general. spring day might be blacklisted if the government knew about what really the song was all about. 2018, that president was impeached and according to koreans, that was the most corrupt president in history of SK. just last year, the family of the sewol victims, revealed that bts visited them and made some donation even if they were not still earning that much. bang pd accompanied the boys. before the bts left, these families said to them that they will secretly prayed for bts' success. maybe thats why spring day never left the chart til now for it is well loved by south koreans. they knew it, it was a tribute.one of the locals said, spring day was like a national anthem of the south koreans.

@@btsuniverse6737 I understand what you're saying, that maybe they couldn't come out and say exactly what the song was about at the time it was released, because they didn't want to risk getting in trouble with the government. But I still maintain that the song isn't only about the ferry tragedy and that it can have multiple applications and interpretations.
Regarding sources and research, here's what led me to say what I did:
- In RM's February 2017 V-Live he talked about how he came up with the "leaves are falling" metaphor and also says, "I wrote the song thinking about friends that I miss but can't see often, or friends from the old days." I realize you could interpret that to mean, he was thinking about the ferry tragedy but couldn't say it so he thought about his own friends that he misses, but my interpretation is that he was truly thinking about his friends, since he goes on for a little while after to talk about them, and how people should reach out to those they may have lost touch with.

In the Esquire article "BTS Discuss the Meaning Behind Their Emotional 2017 Ballad 'Spring Day'" from November 2020, Dave Holmes asked if Spring Day was about a specific event, and this is the first time I believe they even hinted at the ferry tragedy being linked - Jin replied "It is about a sad event, as you said, but it is also about longing." Maybe I'm being too literal but to me that says the song is about the tragedy (we can guess, though they still haven't said it concretely), but it's about other things, too.
The point I was trying to make in my response to you is that it's not JUST about the ferry. I worded it poorly and I didn't mean to sound like I was correcting you. I just wanted to add more information. I learned a lot of inaccurate things when I first became ARMY and it was due to reading many RUclips comments. :) So I wanted to throw my two cents in. My apologies.

Tiny Desk is a GREAT gateway into BTS! Not sure if you noticed, but their names were included in brackets in the subtitles when they're speaking between songs. This vid is maybe the best way to track who is who. Also, it can be really helpful to learn names in association with their voices more so than their appearance. They change their hair constantly and a lot of people have trouble identifying their faces in the beginning, but their voices are all pretty unique. From left to right, it's j-hope, Suga, Jungkook (also commonly called JK), V, Jin, RM, and Jimin. (Jimin is the high voice you really like!) Btw some of these are stage names, so you may sometimes get comments from people using their real names or nicknames, which can be so confusing in the beginning, I know!
hahaha yeah very very correct. JK was the first i learned and then i saw him on the save me + its fine reaction i made and i couldnt recognize him for like 10 seconds... i will watch the intro videos soon aswell to learn more :D

It is so difficult to give one one favorite, because BTS have 300 songs together and more songs given as free gifts and their mixtapes (Recommended! - they are of the rapper'line's until now. {There is vocalline's mixtapes coming but they take their time with them.}) and covers and predebut songs on top of the 300 official songs under their label ! 💜

When you watch the music video for Spring Day and the explanation video, you will come to realise just how deep this song, how much it resonates to this day with ARMY everywhere. This song has not left the charts in Korea since it was released. It has such a meaningful story and is not really the “panty dropper” you called it. 🤣. Enjoy your journey. ARMY will be here with you as you learn more about these amazingly talented young men. They are so much more than many people give them credit for until they get to know more about them and what they stand for.

Waaaahhh! “panty dropper”. This song Spring Day is a actually an ode to a tragedy that happened in Korea a few years back. This a deep song, when you watch Spring Day please make sure to also watch the explanation video. This song has never left the top spot in Korea maybe because it is intertwined with a real tragedy. Don’t worry about the subtitles and everything else you will get used to it.

Save Me was written during a time where BTS were struggling to keep afloat, it was their last chance to make it or they’d have to disband. So, the song is a plea and an ode to ARMY. They’re very open about encouraging people to interpret their lyrics however we want though, which makes them incredibly relatable.

I watch quite a few reactors, and want to say that, sadly, too many reactors seem to be in it because they think they can get views from ARMY, and are very obviously not genuine. I really appreciate your honest response to BTS - your statement that Dynamite is not your kind of music (it's not mine, either, but I like it because it was made specifically to cheer everyone up when things seemed so hard and bleak - and it does that), your recognition that Save Me is a much more meaningful song than the melody suggests, and of course others have explained a bit more about Spring Day (which is and always will be one of my very favourite songs). I also deeply deeply deeply appreciate your statement that you prefer their Korean songs - so do I, but the Western "industry" keep going on about not being able to understand what they are saying, which is now very clearly an excuse to try to keep them down - well, we've been here before because believe it or not, Korea did exactly the same, but with different excuses obviously.
I'm not going to suggest "favourite" songs, because many others will already have done this and I have too many anyway. However, if you would like to know more of the background - which, including training is now 10 years long - I recommend watching any of the videos by Xceleste, a very skilled and knowledgeable ARMY who has done several summaries of different aspects of the BTS back story! They started as real underdogs ( their company was close to bankruptcy at one point) and had a very hard struggle to get opportunities to perform or be broadcast, but social media carried them to ARMY and ARMY carried them tot eh world.
