    For the people who are looking for answers, say no more.
    Ws1100is is very great sounding. Huge earcups for comfort. Great High Res Audio.

      How is the comfort? I'm coming from a Logitech G430 where the head band feels like it's digging into my skull. Do they feel nice and gentle on the top of your head?

    I have both of these and love em both. The difference to me between these headphones are that my m50x really need my fiio amp to really come alive whereas my solid bass headphones sound more dynamic when I plug em directly into my headphones. Also the m50x are not quite as comfortable as my solid bass headphones. Lastly my m50x seem a bit easier to listen to for long periods than my solid bass headphones. I assume the flatter frequency response is the cause of this. Overall I love both for different reasons and I wouldn’t pick one over the other

      yups...i like the tight bass with crystal clear mids and highs. I tried MSR7 and V-Moda LP2 but i find ATH WS1100iS gives me right balancing of lows, mids and highs. Please remember it's not a bassy headphones or boomy bass. Very tight bass instead exactly what i was looking for.

    I'm planning on purchasing those and I was wondering if the heavy bass does not override the crystal highs in EDM music. I like to listen to alot of EDM such as DnB, Future Bass, Dubstep etc. I'm a huge bass head and I really like boomy heavy and deep bass, but also like to acknowledge the whole spectrum of sounds like the highs and those little details in music. I'd like to know that before I purchase these because these are a huge investment for me. Also, do these come with an equalizer software?

    • @Itamark500
      @Itamark500 4 года назад

      @@wompdaddy4891 I see. Do you think it does heavy Electronic music justice? Is there enough of that deep bass that often make those ear cups vibrate? That's super important to me.

    if your buying for durability, bass, value then the ws1100is are probably the best upper priced headphone out there right now. you'd probably be crazy to buy the m50x over these which are on sale now. i dont recommend the m40x either.
    i have them. if you are expecting alot of bass then you will need either a good eq and boost it by 10 db or so, or a fiio e17k amp which has 10db bass boost. but rest assured they ARE bass headphones:
    check out the youtube video of ws770 paper bass test. not many headphones can do this.
    my hd500s cant handle the same amount of bass as ws1100, but can pump out the same volume at low levels of bass if that makes sense. so what im saying if you want alot of bass then you will have to eq it with alot.
    they are possibly more durable than the v moda m100s. and those arent on sale either.
    i play my music not quiet but hopefully not loud enough to damage my ears sitting next to ppl at library and no one complains.
    rarely there is sibilance. normally its right at the threshold.
    you can hear cars outside but not as loud as my open hd500s
    if you dont have hte money for ws1100 (its $130 usd) then id recommend buying a used pair of xb500 locally. sony xb950 and crushers have crap build quality.

    How durable are the WS1100iS,
    I use to own a pair of M50x and they are tough. I'm very abuse on my headphones, they're constantly beaten and exposed to heat and cold sometimes light rain or snow. The M50x lasted me nearly a year before the left driver died, common issue with many headphones I've used.

    I don't know if anyone will reply, but I am thinking about replacing my cheap JVC XX HA-M55X headphones, The WS1100iS are $146.99, while the M50X are more at $149.99, I like some bass but I want good quality, Are the WS1100iS's worth it now?

    • @overwatch4408
      @overwatch4408 7 лет назад +3

      I have both pairs and personally I lean slightly towards the WS100. First reason is because I like being able to replace the cords and don't like the lock in feature of the m50x because I keep thinking with heavy usage it will lose connectivity if not locked in or something (tho this hasn't happened to me). Two because as the op states the WS100 feels slightly more comfortable over extended periods of time as the ear cups are just a touch bigger and more plush for my head and three the bass does sound more solid. Thatt's just my opinion..hope it helps

    I just bought the Audio Technica ATH WS1100is on Amazon for 117$ !!! 😎 Can't wait to hear them, I need something that can reproduce really good bass for my PsyTrance listening, and something that can handle the Hi-Res Audio Files I've purchased from HDtracks, and these should be the best at exactly that, I even wanted to pay 229$ plus import fees to my country to get them because they really should be perfect headphones for me, but last night I saw them on Amazon for 117$ that was a heureka moment for me! Just saved a bunch of money! Now I just can't wait for them to get here!

    M50x are known to have poor noise isolation compared to most closed headphones so making the point that these are good for this is misleading. Also M50x are the least flat studio monitors I've ever had so again, calling them a bit flat is misleading, they aren't even slightly 'flat'.

      I think the M50x’s sound better than the m40’s. Even still they are monitors which are a truer sound and not supposed to be very boomy. The solid bass headphones have much more bass but those are still not overpowering.
