From what I saw, it took 35 seconds for the full corruption without purity, and it took about 18s to get to half corruption with purity (had to do this because there isn't an example of charging from 0% with purity w/o taking damage to help the charge). So based on that (17.5 is half of 35) it doesn't seem like purity made the base charge speed any faster. Idk if it helps on the damage charge values though. Edit: Upon further inspection the time to full corruption increased by about 8 seconds after both the void key and purity were in the item inventory. Idk which of these items might be the culprit (or if it is just weirdness inside the bazaar) but this will have to be investigated further on release.

Based on some very minimal testing (using the video timestamps) My best guess is that the full charge takes around 35 seconds, and then you get to be in your void form for around 15 seconds. There is one thing to note. The first might just be weirdness in the bazaar or could be the result of picking up a void item or purity, but the charge time to reach 100% took an additional 8s over the expected 35 seconds we see in the start of the video. This could mean that more Void tier items increases your threshold for your corruption, but when draining in the start of the second stage it took the same amount of time to exit corrupted mode.
Fun fact, by the end of the IGN video when bungus activates it stops the corruption from ticking up, so that must mean that healing of any kind stops or reduces your corruption. 13:21
Actually seems kinda similar to artificer, but better. Good at long range but better in close range when using specific abilities. (for artificer it would be flamethrower, but the alt special is better imo) Secondary abilities are also very similar but void fiend having such a short cooldown/chargeup makes it seem much better. The ability to gain height is also there for both of them, but of course artificer does it better. I really hope they buff artificer soon.
Agreed Artificer sounds cool, with the elemental attacks on paper, but in execution isn't very good. Artificer is my least favorite character to play. I wish she had more utilities like ice armor, or some sort of teleport (in any direction) for mobility. Flamethrower is cool but i don't like how it slows me down, and is only close range. M1 ability being stuck with 4 stacks with cd doesn't feel good long term. Void Fiend is the opposite of the Rail Gunner, they can use many unique item combos and have a cleanse which means band reset. A good balance to RG's smash things as hard as possible. I feel like they are to Artificer what Dark Samus is to Samus, they even kind of bear a similarity resemblance. They also get stuck in place and die to Void Reavers or get stomped on by Mala-Mushrooms when they transform so treat those enemies like the literal devil.
this character's gameplay looks kinda dry from my perspective. the corruption gimmick is cool but it doesnt change the playstyle. beam people and shoot bombs when youre in normal and beam people but harder in corruption??? ok. i was hoping for a more dramatic change when corrupted. like melee character when corrupted ranged when not?
eh Void fiend is force to get closer when corrupted does more damage, can't heal with R though but can maintain corruption for longer duration it for a cost of health normal long range and can heal with R but a cost of corruption charge.

Is void fiend gonna be in the console version of the game?
I think it’s them showing off new stage one
I don't like that his transform makes him unable to move for 2 seconds in a late run this might kill you.
Dayum this looks so good!
Literally dark samus
Most of the items have more specific item descriptions which is probably a QoL
with the void clover wouldn't you end up with all red items eventually?
My guess is probably not, unless you purposely move stages without looting them. I imagine if you have say a stack of 10 lens maker glasses the void clover will only take one of those. From that demo we see only 3 items turn to new rarities (2 commons and 1 rare)
@@israboiluvsmario In retrospect I posted this before he went to stage 3.
Void fiends look is very cool.
Ok so void fiend is just a good version of artificer then?
Are they fixing the major console bugs?
I hope so
They are completely rebuilding the console version
that charge circle or whatever is very annoying, they should put it down by the health bar or have the ability recharge very slowly
I like the void fiend, but I find the transformation gets really annoying later on in the game. I would prefer if I could toggle the corruption form, but that's just me. I like the character though!
This new survivor looks awesome 😎
I really wish the transformation doesn't interrupt movement.
I am going to like this guy
Christ you uploaded this quickly
He lost half of his corruption after a healing elite died near him. Idk if that's intentional or not
when you heal you lose corruption so i guess you get healed from the healing elite death thing which i didnt know
Not gonna lie I wish I could hibernate until the 1st of March
why is everyone comparing void fiend to artificer? only move that is similar is m2 and maybe m1
That's half the moveset already. Also people are talking about the playstyle and the overall archetype
wait where is that Death Mark skull placement
this character's gameplay looks kinda dry from my perspective. the corruption gimmick is cool but it doesnt change the playstyle. beam people and shoot bombs when youre in normal and beam people but harder in corruption??? ok.
i was hoping for a more dramatic change when corrupted. like melee character when corrupted ranged when not?
eh
Void fiend is force to get closer when corrupted does more damage, can't heal with R though but can maintain corruption for longer duration it for a cost of health
normal long range and can heal with R but a cost of corruption charge.
@@lag00n54 i mean the character's special is basically healing fruit. its not even an attack its just a button you press purely for hp/corruption management. i cant be the only one who thinks thats kinda lame.
@@sighyawn6378 alternate skills are a thing
@@starwars385 these new characters coming with alternate skills day 1? i didnt think they did it that way maybe im mistaken.
I think i recall seeing what im assuming is a leeching modifyier in one of these
That is straight up Dark Samus lol
Void friend :)
Woah this isn’t a mod im about to hop back on this
the fiend reminds me of dark Samus a lil
and why he olue?
Yo thats Dark Samus
They need to do something different with the percentage counter. I just keep aiming with it instead of the cross hairs
That just sounds like a skill issue
@@heatran4109 sure but having a random circular HUD object just off to the side of where the cross hair is(which is hardly visible when you're not shooting anyway) is also a terrible design choice.
@@strickter I’m not having any issues with it lmao
@@heatran4109 congrats
It said epic store at the end?
yeah it's coming out on epic, same release date and same sale as steam, and it has crossplay
Looks sooo cool!
So I guess when you have a lot of healing, you can go corrupted as long as you fight?
Sorta. It looks like it will drain but you taking damage will make it drain slower, but not having healing makes you have to quit so you don't die.
they better be buffing artificer after seein this dude.
Looking good
