    Being a Carpenter of 35 years I would like to Correct you. You Never cut off the line! They WILL be Closer to Consistent if you leave the line when Cutting and Sand the line off. You could get an attachment for your drill press to make it a drum sander? It's Neat watching you create a bait.

      @@anthonydaskus2350 Dumbest comment EVER! Carpenter of 35 years. ANY Carpenter with some time under his belt will explain cut up to the line and sand the line to get "Consistent" results. It's NOT a Secret? When it comes to Fishing He's the Master (Wasn't giving him fishing advice). When it comes to "Carpentry", I'm a Master. It's his "Choice" to take my "TIP" or Not? Go watch a few Carpentry channels and get back to me.

    Ott, I’m confused. You said you send your reels out for cleaning, because you don’t have the “patience” for it. Then I see you hand making crank baits. I think you may have a little more “patience” then you let on.😎

  • @Boethius411
    @Boethius411 2 года назад

    Dude. Great video, but make a jig for that router table. You are going to need those fingers to fish those baits. Puttting on goggles and ear plugs are great but not if you are going to show people how to lose half their hand to a router bit. Please don’t try this like this at home folks. From experience, I have been building lures for decades now. That thing will jerk a bait right out of your hands and your hands right into the bit. A stick and some double sided tape is enough to keep you away from the emergency room. Be smart and be safe.

    You should build a jig to hold the bait when routing it.

      @@OttDeFoeFishing Use a part of the scrap that is the shape of the part, put a lip on top that will hold the part down while routing.

    • @timg185
      @timg185 2 года назад

      I was thinking you could make 2 jigs . One for the bottom of the bait and one for the top. Take a board about the thickness of the bait. Draw the bottom half of the bait on the edge of the board . Then cut it out . Place your bait in the opening then route. Then repeat for the top half. I’ve never tried it . But I think it would work.

    As someone who does woodworking please find a better way to round the edges. Your fingers are way too close to that router bit. One false move or if that wood catches wrong it could easily take a chunk out of your fingers or hand.
