Well I hope that you don't own a home or property because Harris intends to levy a unrealized capital gain, also called a paper profit, refers to an increase in value for an asset that a person hasn’t sold yet, whether it’s a share in a business or a property. So if you bought your home for lets say $350,000 in 2020 and it's now worth $450,000 in 2025 then the Government will be able to ding you for the $100,000 unrealized capital gain.
