    Hi Yvonne! My favorite today was a tie between that gorgeous table and the teak chair. Love the cushion you made for it. I am always amazed with what a lovely job you and Chris both do with distressing. Seems I learn something new with every video. I’m happy to know raised veneer can be glued and sanded. No one would ever know it had been repaired. So thankful to learn from Chris as well. And you’re using your new workshop! Yay! Hope you guys had a great weekend. 💖

    All 5 projects are finished beautifully. Excellent work, again, you 2...Yvonne (picking), Chris (craftsman) 👏👏. My favorites are the drum table, the teak chair, and the toy box/bench (which is sized like the dozens that I built and stenciled a child's name or monogram onto the front, or the backrest). The coat rack and stool are great looking, also 👍.

    I just finished a Ginger Chick project, too, using Krud Kutter, BlackOnyx, White, and wax. I bought an end table for $15 through FB Market Place. The finished product looks like something you might have done. I will tell you a secret......in areas where the sanding took off the paint down to the wood (rather than showing the black), I used a Sharpie marker and marked areas where I wanted more black on the distressed edges. It turned out great! Thanks for being such an AWESOME inspiration, Yvonne. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼You (and Chris) are the BEST 🧡🎃🌻🧡

    Do you like the Kilz because it's not stinky and easy water clean up? I love my Zinsser Bins (with the brown label) for blocking the tannins, but it's oil based and well it's stinky and clean up is not as easy as water based. But it blocks so well. Even with the extra step of having to shellac it, I can see the appeal. I tend to rescue a bunch of oak, which is notorious for bleed through. I guess that's a trade off. I'll have to try it next. I'm still working on my rescue buffet. lol That chair is gorgeous! Perfect for entry way! I also like the table and the box! You can't go wrong with the coat rack.

    • @GingerChickRehab
      @GingerChickRehab  3 года назад

      So the Kilz we use is a paint and primer in one (not just the smelly primer) So we still use shellac if it's needed. But thank you for that info. Oh.. I've not yet gotten our hands on a buffet. maybe someday. I bet it will be beautiful.

    I am surprised with all the different sprays and canned paints you use, that you never have a crackle effect from them not blending together. I refinished for many years and I had that happen to me a few times and ruined my finish. I tole painted an sometime that would get ruined too. I love that polyacrylic paint, but it is water base and shellac is not for example. I am glad you not had that problem, but be aware it is a possibility sometime.

    I love how the teak chair turned out and hope one day to find that table. I'm not from the states, so i dont know crudcutter, but i use degreaser on wooden pieces that i paint and that prevents a lot of bleedthrough for me (and heavy sanding 🤣). Thanks for sharing!

    Leave the feet black; they look great with the black pull! All beautiful pieces! The chair-bench is a unique piece (at least I’ve ever seen one) and I love it in black.
    Always excited to see you’ve posted a video. I’m going to get around to adding some before and after photos of work I’ve been inspired by you to do to my FB page so you can see them.

    Love everything, but not a fan of the feet on the table. Needs some metal to shine through. Otherwise it is beautiful!

    I love how everything came out. Another suggestion for the little table might be to paint the feet and drawer handle antique gold. Then put a tiny pattern stencil in the same gold around the table top about 1/2” in from the edge. I think it would look so pretty. You could do tiny stars!

    Hi there..I love everything..I think maybe I would paint the feet on the table white and distress them..but as you always say.. everyone has their own preference of what they like. Take good care and thank you for sharing...I bought a stool identical to the one you have in this video and I painted mine black too..also used the antiquing wax..it is now a bedside table.. I put antique wooden wheels on it and I love it. So there you go...your statement of everyone has their own preference..lol..totally proven and true..again you and Chris..take good care!

      Thank you for sharing that. Yes we all have to just make things our own. Great idea for a bedside table.

    Great pieces! Can you use the Kilz white paint/primer inside? I need to paint inside during these winter months.

    I think if you could find some metallic wax to add to the table feet it would really pop. Like a bronze wax or glaze. But the table looks great.

    I hate to tell you this now that you've glued it, but those coatracks were made to turn like that because you would usually keep it in corner, so you could turn it to reach a coat in the back! : ) The round table is my favorite, reminds me of one my grandmother had. I like the black drawer pull, but maybe a brushed silver color would work better for the feet. The teak chair is absolutely beautiful too!! As always, love, love, love your work!

      LOL....I'm so you said so glad you said that about the Turning .... that makes sense but I didn't know that ....thank you... Just for the record I would have thought it was broken but it makes sense to get the coats from the back cuz how are you going to lift a heavy rack when there's four five coats on there that's that was smart design
