To clarify, that purple lizard-like monster that Meliodas killed was stalking Margaret, and those crows were stalking Gilthunder in most of the scenes he appeared in. The red sorceress was blackmailing Gilthunder and Margaret to keep them from being together, and she’d already taken Margaret hostage. So in truth, Gilthunder was a good guy from the start, trying to keep under low-profile so Margaret wouldn’t be killed.
